How does a two speed gearbox/tranny work on nitro vehicles? What causes it to change when it does? Are there different types of "gear change" on different vehicles?
Any info is greatly appreciatad :D thanks guys!

Most use a centrifugal hub setup but there may be other setups I just haven't ever seen them.

All of what I have experience with is a centrifugal slinger type. The slinger arm is spring loaded and the tension of the spring determines when it engages the second gear. Traxxas, HPI savage, Kyosho VoneR, Mugen MTX 3 all use this method. The spring is adjusted (by you) to shift at a certain RPM. Tuning will also effect the shift point.
