2 questions.

What is the difference between Tires and Tyres? I dont understand why I keep seeing people sayign Tyres but I've seen it enough to guess that there is a difference and its not a matter of people just not knowing how to spell lol.

second question is "what is a scaler?" I've seen this term thrown around several times but I'm not sure what it is exactly. I havent been in the hobby all that long.

Ummmm, I would have said that tYres is the american version of our uk tIres but then again, thats just what I always thought.

Tires is the American spelling. Not all our members are in the U.S.A.
Tyres is European.

Scalers are vehicles that look like real vehicles. ie, they are "scale' versions of a real truck.
