My GS Storm buggy is having a clutch issue where it will grab but then it won't grab so I'm sure it's the clutch. I found the shoes at one site and the springs at another site. I'd like to get performance clutch shoes and new springs and I know most of the 1/8 scale buggies have parts that can be interchanged. Does anyone make performance clutchs for 1/8th scale buggies? If so can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance, Steve.

The Dynamite MaxLife Aluminum shoes are pretty nice. They wear very nicely and last quite awhile. I personally run a 4 shoe Ascendency Clutch in my race rigs....but the 3 shoe are very nice as well and a little cheaper.

Thanks very much and my lhs recommended I get these dynamite clutch shoes which are like a hybrid material that's very durable. Now I just gotta wait for some funds because I don't want to use credit.

Yeah the MaxLife are like a dual compound and last awhile ;-) Not very expensive either. Good luck!

i installed the mugen springs and mugen aluminum shoes and I still have no engagement. I did notice that when i turn the rear wheels on either side there's no action on the rear diff. So i'm assuming that the rear diff is toast and being that GS is no longer around, where can i get a replacement diff? When I do get sometime to actually pull it apart than i can acess the situation but for now I just want to get pointed in the right direction. Thanks in advance, Steve.

Finally Pulled Her Apart

I finally removed the rear diff to find that all the spider gears are fine. The shafts that the spider gears go onto we're fine. The pinion gear was fine and the outside diff gear was fine as well. Unfortunately the diff was dry as a bone and i'm sure this would cause my above issue? Also the manual rec. 1k diff fluid which is weird becuase the front takes 5k and center takes 7k. I was thinking of running 5k in the rear like the front. Is there any other thing it could be that's causing my problem? Maybe something i'm overlooking? Any help would be awesome, Steve.
