anyone know anything about this truggy? will it be a durable but fast basher? i was looking at the hot bodies scale lightning 2 pro rtr but this one is cheaper. which do you think is better

I like Hot Bodies...they are made by HPI so you know it is going to be tough. I have a Lightning 2 buggy and I beat the animal out of it and so far no breaks. They have very reliable and easy to tune engines to top it off.

The Mantis comes with the Spec 1s Axial and goes really hard.
Not to mention according to R/C Car mag it is one of the most tuneable/adjustable chassis on the market.
It turns well and drives nice BUT after running around a makeshift track for about 10 minutes and jumping racetrack size jumps the fueltank cracked.
Apparently its fairly common because of the rigidity of the plastic, but thats easily changable for, well pretty much any other one......

Not to mention it looks awesome......

i have always liked the mantis for its looks but i figured it was exspensive so i got set on the hot bodies. now that i saw the price of a mantis I've kinda changed my mind. plus the mantis looks to sit up higher than the hotbodies and i run in grass alot. the only thing i dont like is it seems the mantis needs a few upgrades before it is top notch. is the hotbodies like this also
