I'm just getting into RC. I'd like to buy a nitro buggy but am unsure what to get. I don't want to spend a load of money on my first one but I also don't want a piece of cucu either. Any suggestions out there? Maybe something that has the possibility to become a great off road buggy with some investing in new parts down the road?

There is a permanent post stuck up top of this forum for first time buyer tips. For a buggy, though, I would consider one of the OFNA products, or even the XTM buggy.

Welcome!

there are 2 sizes for nitro buggies now as well.....1/10 (wouldn't recommend) and 1/8 scale...those are the typical 4wd nitro buggies you see at the tracks.....and I'm w/ Revo, get the Hyper-7 OFNA buggy......best price/performance for a beginner buggy

I've had a hyper 7 and its one hell of a buggy. Very strong, and built to last. Go with that and you won't be disapointed.

I would recommend an Ofna buggy also. I have the Ultra LX Comp which is turning out to look pretty good. Lots of nice parts although the servos are POS. The 9.5 looks good, you might want to look into it also.

I just figured out what POS is, LOL. What is the approx. cost for the Ultra LX? I'm Canadian so I'll convert.

Hugo if you want an LX, I have an OFNA 9.5 pro for sale:
OFNA 9.5 PRO kit.... it will be RTR w/ brand new never seen fuel TT pro .21 w/ Tiger drive backplate......tons of hop ups (PM for details) 2 sets of panther step pins w/ 60-80% tread left......buggy has less than a gallon on it.......awsome buggy to start w/ and race.....hitec servos (digital steering and 645mg for throttle).....6v pack...FM JR XS3 radio set.....diffs and shocks like new...front diff is new ne=ver run,, rear and center have 4-5 tanks use since rebuilt w/ new gears and oil....shocks were used for 4 tanks in begining then I used a set of Kyosho shocks while I ran it......stock body & NIP unpainted/uncut Crowd Pleazer body/ NIP proline wing.....and spare parts too (steering knuckles/C-hubs and such).......450 + shipping......
it's seriously the closest thing to new you're gonna find.....PM if you're interested

Damn, if I wasn't broke I would buy that just to re-sell the parts on e-bay, since I already have the same car and radio, thats a good deal there fishy.

yeah I know....it's got way too much into it and pretty friggin close to new...I don't want to part it out and have to deal w/ shipping all the lil parts to it.....If any of you guys know someone looking for a good setup to start w/ LMK.....I hate seeing it sit on my shelf not being used.....450 will include shipping to US lower 48 states...anywhere else I will split the difference on shipping......
