Hey, doesn't any one know i was kidding around!?!?!? I want to put a stronger engine in my '67 mustang, but i would have to put a stronger drive line in as well, unless i feathered the throttle (yeah right)...

Zandor, just slap a reman engine in the Toyota and keep the little woman happy. Then get that damn truck running. Then get the T-Bird finished. :hammer:

I think this is what I am going to do reman the yodda! get it painted new rims and exsuast..and dump 5 or 6 g's in to the bird...that should take care of the body work and paint and some new shoes for her..Now to find a good body shop. I need to get it done...

nope, its not very easy to build a 400 hp motor and get 20 mpg lmao!

sure it is, just turbo a 4cyl. power when you need it economy when you dont. my corrado was getting 31mpg the entire way down to florida, then roasted a slp camaro up and over 140mph on the way home, bad tune, low boost and all.

400hp 4 bangers are VERY undependable though.. And pretty expensive to build up.. Ya might need a lil more than a turbo though to get 400 ponies...lol.. Yeah it can be done, I have a buddy who has a Integra with 418 ponies, but he also has like 40k invested into the car (car included), and hes STILL replacing trannys every other year, and has constant problems. Waste of money, and WELL not worth it in my book. He could have a KILLER hot rod (thats actually worth what hed stuck into, well alot more anyway) than his integra.. he relizes that now, but its a little late.. Its for sale also... $12k....lol..

It was built for Dragracing and not daily driving but I drove it on the streets anyway :)

Actually it is easy to get 400hp an 20 mpg just get a diesel if i chipped mine i could have up to 500hp and 1000 ft lbs of torque. the problem is spending the 6 grand on a tranny to handel the power

Get the hell out of my thread jack ASSes...

Bro we need to fix that shackle mount and get it ready for paint you and i could do alot of the work ourselves unless you doubt your ability to pimp your ride lol! but seriously we could and save you alot of money, or we could get a hold of Wayne's Autobody have him do an estimate on it he's got an awesome body and paint guy.

Thats a sweet T-Bird Zandor!!!!! I would defiently fix that bad boy up :)

Ok lol that is true, What I should have said is it hard to get good mpg with a v8 with a 750 cfm carburator, and it had a huge lift camshaft it would barely Idle lol, it sounded sweet sitting at a light. Also this motor was in a 71 satelite looks just like a 71 Charger, very big heavy car = bad gas mileage, please dont beat me Zandor for derailing your thread lol. Fix the T-Bird!!!!

Jesse :trout: LOL Your cool bro... But take that

T-BIRD....that is one mean lookin chicken man...LOL....I had a supercoupe and it HAULED ass....if you need an engine in yours you might be able to drop one of those in ....6cyl and it got pretty decent mileage....I know you got room for that engine in there...HAHA....hell you could make it a double soupercoupe.....12 supercharged cyliders...

Man, the older cars have so much room in the engine compartment they could fit just about any engine you could throw at em, with a little persuading... I know that the engine compartment in my '67 mustang isnt "huge" but go look at a new honda and pop the hood... no room for a wrench in there!!!

Yeah my 59 impala Engine compartment is freaking huge!!!! I could probally drop anything in it with headers and still have room lmao. The trunk is even bigger!!! I could easily put 4 of possibly 5 4 bangers back there lol!

Wouldnt an allison tranny hold up to the power? Those things are beefy!

If ur talking about my post about the diesel the allison can handel 90 hp over stock without damage but it will wear out faster. putting any more hp into the allison will blow the tranny out really fast if ur smokin the tires every where. for 6 grand you can buy a beefed up tranny that can handel 550 hp from the engine very easily.
