Hi so i thought i would update anyone that was interested in the usa1 build that I mentioned a few months ago where i bought a very nice usa1 well it didn’t look nice when i got it because it was covered in thick fluff dust and anything else that would accumulate on it over the years while it was being stored. Anyway i have wanted one of these since day 1 of the release as it was that far out of my reach i never thought i would have one in my possession i was so pumped when I got it that I couldn’t quite believe it was mine. So I knew there was no body shell or body mounts with it but after viewing quite a lot of them that had different bodies I wasn’t bothered infact I wanted to fit the traxxas Bigfoot body at first because they look so good but in less than a week i had about 60% original usa1 body shell parts including the DA35 original decals the only part that isn’t original is the body shell its infact a TBG re popped body and its very good quality when I ordered the body i ordered one body shell but I received two I wonder why Thanks TBG that’s awesome. (I would go and check them out if theres anyone looking for a vintage body of any sort) the body mounts that i am going to use are part No: Ma303c and are off the new usa1/mad crusher and look the same and fit perfectly and they are thicker and stronger and the other part which I cannot find anywhere is the DA19 chrome bonnet carbs which would finish the look completely. So this is where i am upto with the restoration its had a complete strip down rebuilding the diffs from scratch and trying out the kyosho range of grease’s that range from 1000wt to a 30000wt I’ve put 5000wt in the rear 15000wt in the front and 15000wt in the centre they will be much better at handling the power of the GS21R and shimming out the front & rear differential’s to perfection and refitting the F &R gear boxs and suspension arms.
