Are those zip ties that I see through the top fin on alot of the cylinder heads?
If so, why?
Is it to help prevent breaking the fin from impacts?

I know alot of older air cooled dirt bike 2 strokes had rubber bushings between the fins to help keep them from resonating and breaking from fatigue stress.

They are there so when you have a roll over you will not scratch the head

I don't know about you but when I a buy a 300$+ mill I don't want to see gouges in it!

Makes perfect sense, those heads do look damn nice:)

thanks for the info bro
