Go get a menu from friendly's, cut out the pick of the sandwich and fries, and glue it to the inside, then back it with whatever color you want. I'll do it for ya, for, lets see, $350 :D

Heres proof you don't have to have an airbrush to paint a cool looking lid. This one was done with two rattle cans, and some blue painters tape...

to date this is my fav. Not necessarily difficult painting wise, but it was a lot of exacting cutting with the blade. The VISE-GRIP logos were the toughest part of the whole thing, due to being in the corners. This one is all paint except the lights and grill which I thought was appropriate sice they are decals on full scale cars as well.

I do have one I'm working on now that might end up better but this one is sidnicant to me as a fan so I'm not sure I could ever top it.

My best paint jobs are all done by NCNitro. I'm the proud owner of the stars and stripes body he posted. He also did this one for my Xray.

that black 57 chevy body is just simply awesome!!! nice paint jobs on all of them. wish i had half the skill to do that.

Unfortunitely I had no camera when I painted that one for SD. That hard metal red is a siiiiick color which is kind of hard to see in Doms pics. I really want to do some more with that color, I actually had forgotten about that one too. Theres a few more I didn't get pics of either unfortunitely that are long gone to their new owners.

Do you still have that lid Dom? Maybe you could get some outdoor pics for me if you still do.

Thanks to the tip from you on the flames, I'm really spoiled on the effects that can be achieved with the hard anno paints. I did 3 coats of the teal, then backed it with a clear coat of white glitter, backed that with gloss black and got a stunning, sparkling emerald finish that STILL amazes me.
Pictures never do justice to metallic paints, and neither does a flash, but this is the lid that currently sits on my Savage.

Here's one I sold recently that was only blue metalflake in clear, backed with flat black and given a pimpin' grill. The effect of that paint in the sunlight is stunning.

I agree. I have a C-10 waiting to join my stable as soon as I finish 2 other jobs. I really love the look of the stock pickup paint job. Nicely done.
