XXX-NT Issues and Questions... HELLO All!!

I've been running this truck for over a Year now and I'm still having issues tunning it.

The OS .15 engine that I have works well when its tuned well.

I get a lot of oil and fuel blow out on the truck constantly. I just read about a new fuel tank will that help?

Also, When I come off a long distance all full out run and make a turn the vehicle shuts off. Makes for a long walk to recover.

Does anyone have a Pic of their truck? I want to see how you ran your fuel lines. It seems that I can see air being pushed into the fuel line of heavy accelration.

Great Forum by the way. I wish I would have found this place over a yr ago. You should see some of the custom mods I have on my truck just from not knowing.

Any place to buy after market rear shock towers? Aluminum or Carbon?

Thanks in advance for all the help

Kinda sounds like you don't have enough pressure running through your pressure lines. Try replacing your lines, and run them the way the manual shows. If you don't know get a manual at your local shop. It may be a plugged up fitting, check them out.

That's the best pic of my truck currently, probably no help, it's an RC10GT tho...

I wrapped my exaust line around the exaust like my manual said when I rebuilt it the first time, loved the fact ever since. :)

As for parts, I don't know try Tower Hobbies and see if they have what you're looking for.

Good luck and welcome to the boards. :)

do you have the orginal tank if so order a new one and go from there

You can get a new tank or do a tank mod.
This should take care of both of your issues.
The pressure line tends to suck fuel from the tank and blow it out the pipe. When backing off of the throttle it can cause a suction resulting in the loss of fuel to the carb.

I haven't seen any aftermarket towers for the NT. The AD stock parts work well.

Here is a shot of Christians NT with the new tank

 To the new tank! Yes the mod works, but, the new lid/tank is better. No leaks.

You can get Graphite towers from Losi. I think TrickRC made the aluminum ones.

I got the Tank... NO not this one..

:tank:

But I got it and will probably install it this weekend....

Thanks for the pics and the tips. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

one thing I've been told by alot of racers is that the graphite stuff is aliot lighter but not quite as strong as the factory plastic they all told me if I'm seriously racing go ahead and get the graphite but for all around bashing and light race ing the plastic is fine i dont know you make the call

I got the tank installed and a stinger tuned pipe. After i smashed my old one. (oops)

Now I'm having a tough time tuning it. The input shaft (where the pull start was attached till I removed it and threw it away) wiggles and it is easy to turn the fly wheel by hand. I'm assuming I'm leaking air in the loose spots.

Can the OS be rebuilt or is it better to buy new?

O yea.... I did a search for TrickRC in Google and found some airplanes but no aluminum (sp) parts...

Thanks:w00t:

They are not officially out yet, so it says. But I swear I seen them somewhere.

O.S. engines have a GREAT 2 year warranty if it is not a race 'R' type mill. They would prob do it for free. At least they did on my CVX Hyper. One thing worth checking is the head. Make sure its on TIGHT.

Otherwise, if everything is in order, and you can spin the piston extremely easily then yes its more than likely time for a new piston and sleeve.

Excellent... I'm looking now. Can you hook me up with better shocks for this thing? The Losi ones suck... or maybe its me I can't keep the ride height stable

Thanks for the quick response!!!

Holy crap That is expensive, 45$ for a rear tower!

Excellent!

That's what I'm needing.... (daddy is getting a new set of shoes)

Losi shock do not suck there the best out there!

Anyone have a link to where I may get one of those NEW Losi Tanks????? I can't find it anywhere.....

Its the EXACT same part number as the old. I'm assuming most sites just havent updated their pics yet. However, I would suggest orderring it through your LHS. This way, if the wrong one shows up, they can ship it back etc etc..

Then it must be me.

I've changed to the pink springs. The thing I'm haveing the most problem with is stripping the shock collars. and I'm not sure I got the guts put together right. The ass of the truck will not stay uniform...

How often do you guys rebuild them? any tips...

My NT will not take a jump to well.. Bottoms out and breaks something... But hey its all in the driving isn't it...

The town fool appreciates your kindness
