Well, I downloaded the manual for the
XTM MMT. It does not have a slipper clutch. It has a solid center axle with a steel geared two speed on it.
IMHO, that kind of sucks. Good for speed, bad for diffs.
The Mammoth had the same setup. I didn't care for it. But, it appears they are now using spider gears in the diffs instead of planetary gears (like the mammoth had). Spider gears can take more abuse. Still not great to not have a center diff or slipper in a MT of any kind.
For the size/length of the truck, I wouldn't expect wheelies at all unless your getting some rediculously good traction (think tank tracks in glue). It's long and heavy which means power is lost when spinning the wheels.
That said, a stronger engine and more grabby clutch may get more power to the wheels off the line and even though they spin, they may get enough torque to pull the front end up. However, if you have that good of power transfer, without a slipper, your most certainly going to shave life off the rear diff every time you hammer the throttle.
