so how's everyone doing with their cars?
.....hmm well 2 cents after running this car.. total of 15-18 minutes of actual running time,, and I've broken more parts on this thing than any other buggy,, so far not to pleased with this car... not in design but in quality of the car and it being able to hold up to being run.
i might just be cranky right now,, but I've already replaced two front turnbuckles , one time from absolutely no hit what-so-ever,,,
one L-Rear hub carrier, one L-Rear upper link, one R-Rear lower arm,, all the rear end parts just broke like a damn p.o.s.,, made in china,, losi car......
my exact words after the left rear hub and carrier broke and the wheel and universal went flying off,, "g*damn losi car" .. it's pretty bad when you view your new 1/8th scale buggy as a fragile little tinker toy....

so a total of 15-18 minutes and this thing is getting a serious thumbs down already.... ...............
there are kits made in taiwan , then there's the knock-offs of those ones made in china,, so far I feel the plastic quality on this thing is like a knock off of a chinese made car...

dastardly little slovakian bitch car so far... but then again,, just an opinion.. the track owner was there while I was charging the car and fueling up asking questions, etc, etc, his comment after the wheel broke off the car and went flying "where'd you get that big losi car".

I'm not an Xray owner, but I really haven't found many people who've broken their XB8's so easily. I'd call Xray and see about getting replacement parts. Maybe you got a lemon.

transferts

it's official, French top driver, Yannick Aigon, is going to work at the plant off RB , so probably I will be driving the xb8 perhaps also the rb motors

LRP Germany is getting involved with Hot Bodies

dgc02 i can't right now... the streamhoster account is closed...if i had a different server i could upload them too i would...but at this time i dont...but i am working on it....

hirez,

as of yet all i have managed to do is break 3 of 4 shock shafts as i told ya in email....oh and one front arm...but it woulda broke on any car...i yard darted a 29 foot quad jump full on throttle....lol

hirez, i havent had any problems with breakage at all yet, and I've been running mine since about 6-8 weeks before the states got them (yeah I'm a bas+ard i bought HK) the only breakage i had was a R-hub carrier and corrosponding upper link. i got hit full wood by an mbx-5 (stupid tanks) comming back on racing line.

the front turnbuckles are a known problem, the steel is too hard making it brittle. gene has found the Kyosho t'buckles to work well as replacements though he still breaks those too. some people have fit hyper machined aluminum rear hub carriers and i belive you need to add another spacer in the lower arm when you do so, oh darn more wheelbase adjustment ;-)

we'll see how this weekend goes for me, ill be running a very tight indoor clay track thats very unforgiving. I've got a box full of spares ready for it though, lets hope i dont need to many of them.

I almost blinked and missed that dig at mugen then corrado lol
what sort of results you getting with your xb8 corrado, i found the suspension hard to get used to with them being so light weight and all, they dont seem to like the large sharp bumps as much as my tank does :)

no dig intended mike, take it as a compliment that the mugen is built pretty tough. I'm not an experienced driver by any means.

last season was my first racing all together, and i started 8th scale about halfway through the season. so from not being used to driving or setting up 8th scales i took to the xb8 pretty easily. when setting up the shocks i keep my fluids and pistons close to the stadium truck range actually and it did pretty well for me.

last race that i ran i came in 2nd. the 1st place finisher also holds the track record. so id say I'm picking it up pretty quickly. i can admit i make a better wrench than driver though, i know how to setup a chassis. its what to do with the radio that I'm still learning.

i went from running mid pack with an ill handling hyper 7 to running top 2-3 with the xb8...and tonight i just got back home from racing a complete sweep...both heats the main...and the 20 minute money race after the races....it was sweet...here is how we all finished

1 mitch 12 laps best time was25.430
2 justin 10 laps w/ 25.530
3 ron 9 laps w/ 26.290
4 david 7 laps w/ 29.520
5 john 7 laps w/32.450
6 mike 1 lap and broke out....

DIXIE DIRT SLINGERS WAS IN DA HOUSE....PEACE

yeah i saw those on the grid earlier this week. while i like the mount, it doesn't provide the extra chassis rigidity of the king heads mounts. and i dont remove my motor from my car often enough to warrent a mount like that. its very nice, just not for my needs. anyone that removes thier engine more often should look into it though. the same company makes a matching front brace like the king heads one as well.

SO you think the KH Motor mounts will provide more support than that one? Why. I would like to get one of them? I'm going to get the tourque brace and top plate for sure:)

the king heads mounts extend further forward of the motor than both stock and the Vita Tuning mounts. this strengthens the weak area at the clutchbell and should eliminate CB to chassis contact. the king heads mount requires that you drill 2 new holes in your chassis for the front most holes too. so you get stiffer mounts with extra security of 6 bolts holding your engine in place too.
