I picked up this amazing X Factor that literally had one tank of fuel run thru it. Always wanted one of these and I want to baby it.
I run my Savage SS with a 4.6 on 30% and she loves it. I’m looking at the 24.7 mill and first thing I notice is how small the heat sink is.
XTM manual says to shim the compression chamber to lower the compression. Has any one done this? I usually run motors this size on 30.
Curious, and looking for any info from u guys out there who have run the 24.7.

lower nitro remove a shim. Fuel is cheaper. I am just happy with 15% nitro @$28 a gallon compared to 30% @ $50 a gallon unless you buy fuel by the quarts and are getting ripped off.

higher nitro content will if anything make the engine run at a cooler temperature at peak performance, but there is the trade off of higher compression ratios. there is some variables in quality control and tolerances that might allow using 30% fuel in the truck, but there is a possibility of needing to add a shim to slightly reduce the compression so it wont try to pre-detonate, sometimes you can get away with running a slightly cooler plug, but not always.
