hi I'm very excited because I'm going to get either a savage x 4.6 or a revo 3.3.the boo part is i can't choose between a revo 3.3 and a savage x 4.6.i am new to the hobby. So the truck has to be east to work on.It should be able to bash race and just ride around the lawn. Also have good handling. So any help would be good =):hehe::p::(

Savage all the way!! U will love it! Easy to work on and loads of power. I'm havin trouble keepin the front tires planted!

Both are good bashers, but I proffer the savage X over the revo. Less problems and easier to setup for big air IMO. The revo will definitely out handle the savage on a track though. If stump pulling, hill climbing and big air is what your aiming for, then go with the savage. If you intend on racing at some point, the revo will be better.

EDIT:
Failed to mention, I bash only. Saw a track once... then drove 60 miles back home. The only real track I've ran at was a MX track. Serious air to be had there, but it is no longer available. My poor revo didn't stand chance at that place. LST2's and muggies smoked me. Then I got an aftershock and seriously upgraded it. It took the punishment much better day after day.

Savages are excellent bashers, but for bashing AND racing, i say revo EVERY time !! it's a capable and durable basher, and a good racer aswell.

Ask anyone on here, out of the revo and savage, the answer you will most often get is that for bashing and racing the REVO is best, for purely bashing, the savage is king.

Have you looked at other MT's ?? there are other MT's out there that can bash and race, but other considerations should also be part availability and how much you have to spend. you want a vehicle that is durable enough to take a bashing, but has replacement parts at a reasonable cost.

I own a Savage AND a Revo and whilst the Savage may be good for bashing, it is too top heavy to race as it likes to want to flip a lot, the revo however can be lowered enough to be stable as a racer with good handling and raised up to take a bashing sesion on the roughest of ground (within reason).

At the end of the day, having sought advice and opinions from fellow members the final choice on what to buy will be yours, but choose wisely as the rig will be with you for some time.

DO NOT make a hasty decision on what MT to purchase only to regret it afterwards. Maybe stake out the local track or tracks near you and see what MT's they run, ask the racers there about the trucks they run, why they chose them, what the benefits and downsides are to each truck and why. Your decision MUST be an informed one and not one of whimsy or haste.

If you can stand putting up with the 2-speed setup on the LST trucks, that and the dual steering servo setup, they are the best handling/fastest monsters out there.
all they need are sway bars and good race tires. You'll have a lethal track weapon that can bash hard too.
Revo's take hundreds of dollars to be durable, Savages take just as mutch to handle well.
I have plenty of experience with all three. the best of both worlds is the LST2. For straight up fun a Savage Xl is king. For superb out of the box handling, a newer version Revo is awesome. Just don't hit the arms/carriers or wheels on anything at speed. It will break like a toothpick. The 3.3 is quick but lacks the torque of a BB engine truck.
plus Losi offers the best Radio out of the 3.

You are just getting into nitro. No need to think about racing, just practice and have fun. Having said that, Savage is king. It will take all you can throw at it, it will be fun, and when tuned right it will wheelie with the best of them. Further down the road, just throw on some lst2 shocks and truggy wheels and it will handle way better.

As for the guy that said that the lst2 can out-handle the revo.....HAHAAHAHAHHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

lol thanks guys i think i will choose the savage because most of u guys(i mean girls to) told me to pick the savage =p the second truck i would choose is a revo =)

(then i might get a nitro rc car)

I STRONGLY disagree !!! i have thrashed my revo to within an inch of its life, high speed nose impacts with only a grazed bumper for my troubles, high speed barrel roll's without so much as a broken or cracked part, 7 foot jumps and the only thing i did was screw up my tranny through my own doing and blow a glow plug.

How is that not durable ????????????????

The only "non stock" item is the wing mount, wing and the receiver (spektrum)

Adam Drake killed both the Traxxas guys at the last MT race, with a LST.
We set my buddy's Aftershock up just like Adam Drake's racer, no monster could touch it on the track.
thundertiger EB4 blah blah -4-2 Pro....You know how many Revos have tangled with my Savage and drove away? NONE! Keep in mind I have owned two Revos.
Without RPM arms, ti. pivot balls and al. carriers, the revo cannot take a hit to the wheels or arms.
