my car will not pull away, it will only rev when its on the ground but when i pick it up nd press the throttle the wheels move. :S so why wont it move when its on the ground?
thanks

It is either your slipper clutch on your spur gear is crazy loose as was said above or it could also be the clutch shoes on the bell gear (on the engine) are shot. If you just changed them you may want to make sure you installed them in the correct direction.....yes I have done it and can cause just that.....oops.

ok thanks I'm new to nitro cars. do you think if i just take the engine to a model shop do you think they could tell me whats wrong with it or would they need the full car?

Turn the CB by hand. If it moves the spur and doesn't transfer to the wheels (when it's on the ground) you'll need to see if the slipper clutch is too loose.
Next you'll need to see if the output of the trans is turning. It could be something as simple as a cvd set screw loose or missing.

thanks rolex but i dont understand all this technical stuff lol
whats a cb and were is the spur and the slipper clutch?
when i dont have the car running but the power on the arms move wich ever way i want them to :)
as I've said before I'm new to this hobby and sorry if i sound dumb :)
thanks alot every1

There's no such thing as a dumb question when you're new. It's only dumb if you don't ask, and then damage the engine.
CB is the clutch bell on the front of the engine. Inside there are shoes that spin out against it when the RPMs come up.
The teeth on the front of the CB contact the spur gear. The spur is a tension contact with the slipper clutch. When all that is good, the engine will turn the transmission.
There's a nut in the center of the spur gear. Tighten it down, then back it off about 1/8 of a turn.
Start the car and let us know what it does.
By the way, taking the engine off and bringing it to the shop will not help. Hang in there, we only need to isolate your problem.

ok thanks rolex do i turn the part closest the back wheels?

the spanner i have that will fit is 2 fat to get in between to tighten it up is there any way of me gettin anymore room to do this?

i tried turning it and when started up the revs wer really high I've tried turning the other screw nd it wont come down :S

ok thanks rolex ill try that 2morow and tell you how i got on with it.
you know the screw behind the carboretta i olterd that thinking i was clever nd the revs are really high when it starts and when i lift it off the floor the wheels spin by their self.
how can i put this back to normal :(?
thanks again

Don't just randomly mess with the carb settings till you know what they do. You will either make it impossible to start, or you can destroy it by overheating.
Reset them to their factory specs and go from there when we're ready.

Click on the sponsor link on the home page or the main forum page for "Team FastEddy" and download the .pdf file for your manual. You can either read the info you need, or print out the entire manual for future reference.

thanks :) rolex my kyosho does have a nut on the centre of the spur. i tuk the spur and the box thing thats attached behind it off aswel. i then tuk the box apart and had a luk and there didnt look as though there was anything amatter with it so i put it all back together and i turned the cb and it wouldnt move 4ward but would move backwards :S. this car is a pain in the butt haha

If you've checked the gear box, the next check would be the differentials, or rears. You could have a stripped pinion in there.
Roll the car forward and back by hand and see if you hear a crunching, or if it tends to lock up. If you notice either of those, then it's time to open a diff.

hi rolex my girlfriends uncle ha shad a look at the car and he sed its the diffs so i need new ones lol. my car is a kyosho pureten alpha is there any chance that i could put any other diffs in but still the kyosho make?

I don't know if those same diffs are in similar models of Kyosho cars. You'll need to get the part # from your manual. You don't have to get the entire diff, you can get the parts you need and rebuild it.
