:redbuggy: Sounds like you guys had a right scream.

Its not the winning that counts, its the particiation <yea, right>

Keep up the good work.

Sweet Pic! Wish I could have been there. How were the fumes with it being in an enclosed arena like that? Do they get pretty strong?

Tom

Sounds like you guys had a blast. I also pulled a Monkey last year when I installed the switch incorrectly on my MBX5. Had a bad WOT runaway that ended full speed into a curb. Nowadays I don't use a switch at all, I just connect the battery direct to the receiver.

Let's see some more pics!

Can Someone explain to me how the switch was mounted incorrectly? As I am wanting to inspect my RC's to see if I have them installed correctly. Thanks

Tom

if your switch is vertical make sure the off position is UP. Otherwise if your off position is DOWN you run a chance of landing hard and turning off your radio equipment.

Exactly what happened to Monkey Wrench. My FG Monster doesn't have it's switch installed vertically so I don't have to worry about this - I just need to watch out for objects that don't move ;)

Monkey I can't wait to see those pictures and video (if you have any)!

I think you mean the other way around. My problem was, to turn the power OFF, you moved the switch UP, not DOWN. When I hit the last jump, it landed hard enough to move the switch UP, which turned my electronics OFF.

Oh, I'm not yelling Ben, just capitilizing to make sure my train of thought is correct.

I'll send you the pictures I have tonight so you can post what you want, Ace. Just need to get my wife's laptop back up and running!

I didn't get any video, though. Sorry!

No monkey, VB is correct, move the switch down to turn power on. I had to move your switch up to turn power on which is incorrect. Down was off on your switch.

Ah, you're right!

VB, my apologies, sir! I'm all bass-ackwards! Wish I was back at the track than here at work!

Thanks for the info guys! Always try to learn from other peoples mistakes...... that way it leaves me time to make some all my own! Thanks again.

Here are some pictures from the race. I have a few more to post, but am awaiting permission from the photographed to post before I do.

Track. Driver's stand is on your left, pits are right in front of the stand.

Track. You are looking at the track to the right of the driver's stand as you enter the first turn.

EarlywineTrack2.webp

Track. Still panning right of the driver's stand. Notice those hay bales on the berm? I take full and complete credit for those being placed there! This is the berm I launched my truggy from during practice when it went WOT the first time! They 'Monkey-Proofed' it!

EarlywineTrack3.webp

Good shot of the driver's stand and pit road. To the right is 'The Big Jump', which aptly lived up to it's name!

EarlywineTrack4.webp

Decent shot of Jetmech's buggy coming off the jump. Notice the control, something I envied!

FranksBuggy1.webp

One of Jet's 'Team Stranglehold Racing' teammate's MBX5T coming off the big jump.

RyansTruggy1.webp

Another member of 'Team Stranglehold' taking his buggy off the big jump!

StevesBuggy1.webp

About the only decent picture of a 'Team Stranglehold' racer as it was moving.

StevesBuggy3.webp

Shot of the track looking at the driver's stand. To the right is the straightaway. I'm right in front of the scorers stand.

That's you standing in front of the Scoring stand?! I hardly recognized you!.... of course I have no idea what you look like... I guess that could have something to do with it. LOL

Looks like a really neat track. Did any of team stranglehold, or team monkey wrench break anything? Everytime I race, I come home with something broken, that was not broken before I got there.

MW.. that trip had to be alot of fun.

Here are the some pics of the 5th scale damage, running, and a picture of what the dozer looked like (though not the exact one):

Don't have any pictures of the trucks back wheel landing on the blade. In face I didn't even think it broke it as the truck landed back on all four after bouncing off the blade of the dozer and I then took off again, but only got about 10-20 feet before the back wheel then just laid on it's side. All in all, the dozer won. That's what I get trying to run a huge 5th scale in area the size of a matchbox. :marshall:

No, I'm taking the picture as I am standing in front of the scorers stand. You're looking at the driver's stand from the opposite side of the track.

I burned up a throttle servo and broke the teeth on a steering servo on my truggy, which is odd because they are both HiTec servos and I've never had an issue with them before! Hopefully they'll help me out on replacements.

As for Woodie's monster, I sent him the pictures to post as he wishes. Up to him to post them up.

That stinks MW.... I hope you are able to get Hitec to help you out. Do you know if you can buy a rebuild kit for either of those servos? I have never broken a servo... yet... but the last time I raced, I broke the center out of a JP1. Broke right where it attaches to the piano wire.

Nice pics Woodie! That truck is sweet. Have you gotten it fixed yet?
