As long as they fit in the battery tray, any battery will work. Only use the recommended cell count is important unless you have hotdogs to roast on a open fire.
Our knowledgeable member @Greywolf74 posted a couple informative links in which I recommend you read.

I also recommend another thread to look through from GW also..

You do realize the OP is talking about a Nitro buggy kit? They are asking about a receiver battery.

Right, and I thank you but I still believe the links I posted still benefit his choice of batteries.
No matter what the battery is going in it's still useful info.
The OP posted Lipo batteries he is looking at, that's the very reason I posted @Greywolf74 links.
A Lipo battery can be used in both a transmitter and in a nitro car.

I was only trying to point out the comment "As long as they fit in the battery tray, any battery will work." Not any battery would work. Each situation would need a matching connector. A battery for a receiver would need a JST connector. I was only clarifying so that others that read this thread are aware that connectors will make a difference in what batteries can be used.

I'm fully aware of that and I'm sure the OP is as well.
I would hope you wouldn't limit your battery choices because of the connector,
that's why we have soldering irons. Silly me for not mentioning changing the connector,
I would say that's pretty much a given in most cases.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I ended up getting a Protek high voltage lipo. Now just have to setup my BEC as my Futaba RBS404 receiver only takes a max of 7.4 volts.
