does anyone know if a 5000mah 3s gensacearespammers battery will fit in a xl5 stampede...i upgraded to the vxl motor and i currently run the stock 7 cell 8.4 volt nimh and I'm worried about the power difference in the 7.4 2s lipo....

Usually not.... I know pretty much all 4000s will. Most 5k are a little fatter but not all.the lipo is still going to be faster becuase it has a higher discharge rate. Is it 2s or 3 s? U mentioned both

well i was gonna get the 5000mah 2s (which I'm pretty sure will fit) but then i realized the voltage was lower than the stock nimh 7cell....so thats why i wondered if the 3s would fit....

Ok, even at 2s ur gonna smoke the 8.4. Lipos are a different ballgame. If yourr not familiar with lipo handling do your research

i have....just didn't know how they would compare to a higher voltage nimh batt...I've read quite a lot about them just never had one to know how they compare

LiPos disharge at a much higher rate than nimh packs do, and they hold that rate of discharge throughout the pack much more consistently as well. A fully charged 2s lipo will top off at 8.4v, same as a 7 cell stick pack, but due to the aforementioned factors, performance is much, much higher. The biggest packs that will fit in my pede are 4000mah 3s packs, but I'm running the VXL version that is setup for up to 3s packs.

ok good to hear...i just went with the 5000mah 2s packs....hopefully they work out...cuz if they don't...ill make em...lol...i just dropped my tax refund on rc stuff and I'm now eagerly awaiting all of it...lol..I'm excited..
