Why won't my brakes and reverse work?? ;)

Yeah I did all the steering mods, you'll notice the spring if you've been running a single steering servo. If your going from the stock dual setup you may not though the steering is more responsive with the HD spring.

5344X Traxxas part number for the Revo. For use with MG servo.

Sorry Jet, you beat me to it...lol.

Friend told me about it when I was switching over from stock servos to single servo for steering.

I've spent the past hour trying to get the brakes to grab better... but even with a servo cranking out 130oz, they still don't grab. It's almost like there isn't enough throw in the linkage... Looks like I might have to rig up different brake linkage so I can get it to move further. The servo isn't even labored at full brakes, but I have my EPA as far as it will go almost and the brakes drag just a touch at the servo's center resting spot... stupid thing.

Did you turn the screw to tighten the brakes? I used to do endo's with my revo when I over tightened the adjustment screw. I was using the stock brakes.

Hey Olds, I looked at pix from your other thread, try moving the brake rod outboard one more hole. In which case you may have to back off the thumbwheel to the point it is almost off the end of the rod but you can adjust from there. I also took the spring off mine and use a short piece of fuel tubing. For some reason the t/b linkage is kinda tricky to get both set where they are happy. Also which radio are you using? I thought TQ3 but also thought you got another rx. Check your brake settings there.

I forgot to mention, I read about the HD SS on the Traxxas board, looked it up on their online ordering to confirm it was a Traxxas part (link I put up) then just happened to be at the LHS and there it was. Suprised the poop out of me considering they rarely carry anything out of the ordinary, and they didn't even have a damn ring gear!

I'll fiddle with the stock servo horn some, but I don't think it's going to give the kind of brakes I want.
I removed the spring as well and replaced it with fuel line, but it didn't help a whole lot.
I'm using my MX-3 with the EPA's set at almost maxx for brake throw. Even at maxx, it still isn't that great. I went ahead and bought a novak XXTra receiver and it works, but I haven't been able to test the range yet.

I'm glad to finally see a hose clamp.
I now know its your Revo in the photos :D

I aim to please. ;) It's like my trademark. Hoseclamps and a half body... but currently, the body still looks pretty good. Only landed on the rear of the truck a couple times due to the lack of brakes in flight.

My JR radio had another setting for brakes (like brake trim) that was on one of the thumb buttons like the trim. I must have bumped it one day cause my EPA was cranked waaaaay up and my braking action was for poop, and the guy running next to me told me to hit the button and sure enough it was waaay low. Not sure if your radio has the setting but something to look at.

It has sub trim, but since I'm programming a new model into the transmitter, everything was set to base settings. All EPA's to 100, all servo points centered and all sub-trims set to 0.

It took me some time and annoyances, but I got brakes now. I ended up mod'ing a servo horn significantly and cutting a little off the servo box so I could get the extra movement. Now I have room to move and adjust.

yall are lucky it only snowed last year here in houston.and by a miracle.i hasnt snowed over a dacade over here.
