Oh.... that's why!

Just out doing some bashing at the local skatepark today. Had 3-4 inches of the fluffy stuff. I burned about a quart of fuel before my feet and face got numb... sun went down anyway.

Anyone know of a better brake pad for the revo? This one really sucks the second it gets a drop of water on it. My savage isn't this bad with either the stock or the 2 disk setup... I don't remember my maxx being this bad either.

By suck, I mean doesn't work at all. It just coasts to a stop... but I still had a blast! Now that I have my header problem under control, I can beat it like my own red-headed stepchild!

No doubt. Thats a art man! Looks like ya had fun!

What?.?.?.? It's mostly still original! It just didn't hold together well without a little TLC.

After looking at the pics, I realized I forgot a hoseclamp on my header...

i wish i had some snow.. you guys SUCK!! oh and nice bashing olds.. your are one of the top bashers on here man!!

Not to sound like a peepee, I know your an experienced RC'er, but did you happen to check and make sure the pads are there? Some Revos had issues with the pads coming off. I've never had issues with the brakes, even wet, and yes I had mine looking the way yours is in the picture. I do want to say recall seeing a carbon disc but don't remember who made it.

jet = penis :jk: I'm sure they have a carbon disk for it. do you have an high torque servo on it?

LOL, looks like your enjoying your Revo olds. I love bashing in the snow, I've had some trucks that packed with snow. Sometimes it was soo frozen the suspension wouldn't compress at all on my savage.

Yeah, the pads are there. I know fullforce rc had one for the maxx, but I haven't seen one for the revo anywhere yet.

I'm running whatever stock is. I think it's a 2055 which is only 80oz, but I don't have another high torque one laying around.

AHHHH, ok then...well then it's Mr Penis.

so you hang around with a couple of nuts, and live around the corner form an a**hole.. lol.. ok i think we completely derailed old's thread.. BACK TO THE SNOW BASHING!!

Thanks for the link! I might give it a try. It will have to wait though... I just dumped another $100 into the hobby. Bought a new receiver and servo today.

A novak xxtra FM receiver ($65) and just a hitec 645MG to replace my steering servo so I can move the steering servo to be my throttle brake servo. My current steering servo is a futaba S3305 which is a metal geared 125oz servo. Should help with the weak brakes. I got the receiver because I hate the tq3 and I use my mx-3 for my buggy and savage.

The novak appears to work just fine with the mx-3 for those who are wondering. I'll see what the reception is like this weekend hopefully. My reception with the receiver that comes with the mx-3 is only about 150 yards at most. Hopefully, the novak will be as good if not better... time will tell.

With a heavier steering servo you can get the heavy duty servo saver spring, it was a nice cheap upgrade and I noticed improved steering response right away.

jet did you do the steering mods? I did them to mine and haven't been able to run it. So when spring comes I won't notice if there is a big difference between the two. I know that I removed alot of material though. The servo saver springis one thing that I have to get
