Must be the original stealth technology demonstrator...The last time I was at the National Air and Space Museum at the Smithsonian, the X-1 and the X-15 were in the same place. There was a DC-3 hanging where they have now displayed this amazing piece of technology:
I've been there several times. They tend to rotate certain displays since they don't have the room to have everything out at once and that way you always get to see something you didn't see last time. There's an enormous storage facility for some of it, and other planes rotate to other museums or are returned to their actual homes. The Wright Brothers original "Flyer" is one of them.I wonder why they took the spirit and spaceship one down though.
