I'm wondering why they only make blue and purple aluminum parts. my Cannondale mnt. bike is all blue and purple anodized parts that i built 10 years ago
PolishedAluminumCannondaleKillerV900.webp
and i dont want my truck in the same colors but it's all they offer. i did find some red alum. skids, and tank gaurds
redskids.webp
which i got becasue they were different color than the normal stuff. i see msr5 shocks that are red but expensive $95.00 but i may just buy them casue they are red and nice shocks. anyone wanna go halves on a full set of red msr5 shocks?

we need more color variation. it isn't any harder to make red, yellow or green alum. parts. which they made for bicycles when i was a kid in the 80's. well I'm still a kid just a big kid now.

i want to do it in red and yellow, but no yellow alum parts are offered and red is very minimal.

When Manufacturing products you need to do it in mass quantitys. Its a safe bet to choose just a few popular colors. Doing this cuts back on un-sold products and helps keep cost down.

i would think that they could find a more "popular" color than purple.. i mean cmon purple??

yeah eddy is right on this one. i had my whole savage re-ano'd in red cause i was sick of the purple crap too. that is one solutions to your problem... i just threw my stuff in with a batch that was going out for ano while iw as working at rc solutions.... you can also anodize yourself at home... i have seen the directions on how to do it. ill try to dig it up for ya

please find that nathan-454. like i said purple was cool when it came out in the early 90's cause it was new, but now I'm over it completely and this savage k46 has purple heat sink and other parts that i dont desire the color. i built my bike in 1994-95 purple was cool then but still was going out of style when the greens and blues for mnt.bikes hit the scene.

i think they would sell more product if companies had more color variations. there is an entire rc world out here and we dont all want our rides to look the same with blue and purple.

when you re-anodize do you need to take off the original anodizing first?

wow. it sounds simple enough, cheap and you get to use rit-dye. my god they make so many colors.

so nothing needs to be done to the polished/silver parts?

I'm gonna do my savage tvps yellow and now I'm just gonna buy silver parts and dye them myself. i geuss i'll do my test with some aluminum cans.

yeah i would test it out... i havent done it but i dont see why it wont work. after watching how they do it in quantity. its really simple. just amke sure the parts are clean... and also be careful that the silver parts you get arent already anodized in clear... most sliver parts I've come across are bright dipped... which means they are put in teh acid to polish them and then ano'd to hold the finish...

will the oven cleaner strip the clear off the polished alum parts? or should i use some paint stripper?

will this chrger work?

I really have no idea on that one. the oven cleaner should take off the clear anodizing. but like i said i dont know about that charger as i havent done it before.

i would say no cuz most of those dont charge past like 6 amps

i would get a car batt charger I'm sure that would work
