Why does Ofna have so many versions of buggies?

I'm looking at "finally" getting into the 1/8 buggy scene. I like the Ofna 9.5's. Dont know what up with all the different version. MBX has "pivot ball suspension. Is this hot or not? The "violator" has a different suspenion? and the Hyper 7's (bunch of them too) has slightly different setups. Then there's the PCR's and the PBS's. Man what a headache. OK one question for the 1/8 buggy afficanadoes.
Does the Ofna 9.5 MBX look like a DURABLE basher machine to you?

ThanX for ther opinions

the 9.5MBX is a good buggy for bashing.. not that great on racing.. and all that.. i like the Hyper 7 for aftermarked hopups..

The 9.5 MBX has more ground clearance than some of Ofnas other models. Is that why you say it's batter for bashing than racing? I also like the Hyper 7. My fun is all out at the local "unused for the most part" Motocross track just going thru the paces and I can drink beer too! Nowbody is ever there. The terain is very hard on the RC's. It's bashing big time, so my main concern is toughness. Still think the 9.5 would be a good choice?

ThanX

well.. if your lookin for toughness.. you also gotta see what is out there in the way of aftermarket hopups.. cuz there are alot of good parts out there to make a basher better.. like thicker shocktowers.. and stuff like that.. so.. also gotta see whatyour locak hobby shop has in stock..if they got parts for the MBX.. and all that.. the violator is same as the 9.5.. just wider.. or has the option to be wider..

if your looken at the mbx you may want to check the specs. on that ride.they say its a 1/8 its more like a 1/10. its only 14' long and 7' wide. just somthing to consider when buying a new buggy.

I down loaded the users manual from Ofna for the 9.5 Pro, and the 9.5 MBX. They use approx 96% of the same parts inclluding the chassis plate. They are both stated as being 19 inches long and approx the same width. The main difference is the MBX has the pivot ball suspenion. At first glance I didnt like it but I'm thinkin that it's beuty in simplicity. Close inspect show a very clean assembly.

That's some cold poop right there..... lol

I'd put my Hyper 7 Pro up against your Kanai 3 in a bashing situation any day... I'm sure racing is a whole different story....

I'd love to come down and run with you guys sometime... It is quite feasable too. I smell a trip to VA in the future... I'll have to get some guys together for a road trip... I too am considered a "Master of Disaster" amongst my bashing buds... lol I tend to test the limits of my R/C's as well....

Sounds like fun. Sky and I need to nail down some dates for our bash that I think he forgot about in May or June. As of our last talk we were thinking about memorial day weekend.

Maybe not. If you can finish the race, you should win. They don't call him the Master of Disaster for nothing. It's not the car that wins the race, it's the skills of the driver.
