Why do these chargers need a separate power supply?

Do these chargers actually need a separate power supply, or is that just for when DC charging? Shouldn't they come with a wall plug out of the box?

Both of those are strictly DC chargers only. So yes you will need a power supply.

If they were AC only, or AC/DC (not the music/band group) yes it would include a AC wall plug out of the box.

I asked about them on another forum, because I didn't see that listed anywhere in the description, and couldn't get an answer, so thank you for that info.

usally your smaller more compact chargers are dc only ... due to not needing a convertor inside ..... your ac/ dc chargers are usally bigger and heavier .... also dc chargers can either use a 12 power supply ( to use ac power to power them ) or run on dc from an external battery ...like a car battery that's 12v
