Is the whole manual in Japanese?

No, but you can tell an individual not especially fluent in English translated it. The diagrams and what not are excellent, so it's not like you have to do a lot of deciphering, but there are a few sections where you really need to read them a few times and be sure you understand or you'll be ripping it back apart because you forgot a little washer or something!

Right now,it's completely broken down and I may run sunday in Chicago! You have a week, my 5 year old could do it in a week! Come down off brokeback for a while and build that sucka!!

The build is going, albeit a bit slower than I had anticipated. I'll try getting some pictures this evening, but over the weekend my lovely wife put my daughter's sippy cup in the camera bag and the lid popped off, so it's covered in apple juice and the button that you use to determine what mode you want the camera in sticks, so I need to see if I can clean that up and get some good pictures.

I have the front, center and rear ends completely assembled and on the chassis. AC, one thing to be sure is that you put the correct outdrives on the center diff. I wasn't paying attention and put one of them on the rear diff, then built the rear end up. As I went to mount the center and put the brake disk on, it dawned on me that disk wouldn't go on the outdrive because it's completely round, versus having a flat spot for the disk to ride on. Had to break the rear end down completely to get the correct outdrive out (which also happened to be on the cup side as opposed to the crown gear side) which entailed having to completely disassemble the rear diff. Probably lost a good hour-plus of build time redoing this!

Anyhow, since tonight is the premier of the new American Idol, my wife will be hooked once again on that visual heroin and I can hole up in the Man Basement and get back to it! I'm hoping to get enough done to where I can trim the body out and get it to NCNitro!

As a matter of fact, Talon, that is indeed a vintage 1977 Bally's KISS pinball machine! It is in tip-top working order and a blast when I have friends over. 'Course, problem is, I'm such a grouch, I have no friends!

Actually Bryson, I got a great deal on it through eBay! Machine was in Cleveland, which is only four hours from Cincinnati, and since my parents were in the process of moving from Buffalo back to Cincinnati when I bought it, just had them grab it on the way down. It needed a pretty good bit of TLC when I got it, but the back glass and playing board were in great shape. Just needed a little electrical work and a new "brain" to get it up and running. Add a few of those little bulbs and she was running like new!

I'm a HUGE KISS fan! I have the Destroyer album painted on the tanks of my Harley, have all their albums (as in wax), an autographed movie poster of "Detroit Rock City" and an original "four faces" velvet poster that looks awesome in black light!

Anytime you fellas are in the area, stop by for a couple cold ones and some pinball (oh, and we can run our trucks too!)

We're storming the monkey house at the KY race and playing pinball and drinking all your Faygo!!!!! Looks good holmes, what setup are your going with? I'll look for and send you Scott Hughes setup, it's a great setup and is easy to drive. You can make small adjustment from there depending on the track. I'll send you mine too. Steve and Jeff run pretty much the same setup as mine and Breezy is pretty close.

Ya i like kiss to but my bio. teacher is a fanictic. Hes got all kinds of there stuff all around the class. My dads friend down the street has a very old i think its from the 50 pinball machine. He just sits and looks at it but its like new and in like new working order. lol.

Cool Beans on the pinball machine....I was a KISS fan as well....then I discovered AC/DC...and well that was a long time ago.


I will pop in the next time I am in Cinci. My wife has family there we can tilt a few and run some nitro and of course play some pinball!!

Hey MW... I did the exact same thing.... to the T when I was building my CRT this time last year! Man rebuilding those diffs are a pain in the arse once they are filled! How's the build coming along? You are damn near complete. Stinks kinda don't it? I rather enjoy the build part and it kinda sucks when it is all over.

It's done, save gluing the tires and the body (which NCNitro is painting up for me!) Like you AC, I still need a pipe and since no one is offering up a pipe in my WTB thread, looks like I'm going to have to break down and buy one new.

I'm wanting to get a chance to get it running and do a break-in on the engine and to just get used to it, so hopefully I can get the tires glued up.

So AC, have to ask, did you mount the center diff top plate backwards like I did? Geez, I think Mugen could've done a better job highlighting that before I got it all mounted up!

Anyway, can't wait to get this thing running!

The manual does leave a bit too much to the imagination which leaves you open to re-doing a few steps. It happens to quite a few.
