For Xmas I got a Lst and have an MGT.

I'm thinking I want to set one up to be a race truck and was wondering which makes a better platform for racing; Losi Lst or Associated MGT?

I'd like to hear from people that have owned and raced either or both.

I'm not looking into putting a new engine in it. Just running the one in either till they give out.

I'm curious also what "race mods" you'd recommend before getting either on the track.

Thanks

race the LST (proper race tires of course) and smash around the house w/the MGT. 4 1 u have the nice radio and no issues over crystals and buyin spare sets. plus its just a nice truck. still wanna see some1 if not losi come out w/a lil strong Aarm though. u dont need much on it other than good diff oil and a decent setup on springs and shock oil (stuff u'd do anyway) and some good race tires (see what ur local track likes).

the MGT will need a few more essential mods b4 its right. u can do it dont get me wrong. but i'd say race the LST and have fun w/the MGT.

lucky u, such a predictament (sp?). hehe

see the LST racing video below, pretty neat. have 3 down here that race. nice truck.

Have seen both raced, but never raced either. Depends on your taste in how the trucks handle. Take both to the track and run each, you can always switch radio gear if ya want.

Racing against both, its pretty close. The MGT handles similar to the Tmaxx, but better due to the longer wheelbase and better weight distribution. I found the LST to be in its own league, not better than everything, just different. If your track is very tight and technical, race the LST as it looked to cut corners better (I dont mean the corner that Losi cut with the first run of the CVD's :)), the MGT looked to jump better and come out of the sweepers planted a little better.

Bottom line is, with the same driver it will be close. The beauty is, you can use the same wheels on both, same engine, and most likely the same pipe and header, so just switch around and decide that way.

I've seen the mgt in races i never raced mine yet but it keeps up with the truggies in our track
