hey guys broke a front bulk head and skid plate on my tmaxx....didn't even hit that hard.....what is a good after market replacement for these parts.....aluminum???? what do you suggest.....does rpm make a bulk head???

Id go with aluminum bulkheads but thats about it as far as aluminum. RPM for the rest.
 
ACNCM used to make some very tough bulks, but they aren't around anymore.

FastLane makes some that are pretty good as does Gold Horizon.

RC Solutions used to make a nice set as they captured the inside ends of the pins with these nice little plates. Made for a stronger setup that was less likely to bend. Don't see them on their site anymore though.

With any alloy bulks, you will have to get e-clip style hinge pins:

The stock ones screw into the bulks if I remember, which you can't do with alloy ones.

stay stock with the skids. i made the mistake of spending $35 for an integy aluminum skid and it bent at a 5 mph hit .

I just wouldn't use Integy on any part that takes impact...their Aluminum seems softer than the heavy duty stuff Olds was mentioning....but it is what it is...aluminum parts that aren't as expensive as the heavy duty type parts...it may bend easy but it will give you the stiffness you are looking for (just don't smack that part up if it's integy and you'll be fine)...
 
Ah, forgot you mentioned skids as well:
RC Solutions Spring steel
Great skids.

Combine those with GH bulk braces (front rear), rubber grommets and a bolt, and you have something that will go through a wall, but act as a very resilient bumper in the process. ;)

I do have better photo's of what I did to my aftershock though, similar setup to give you a better look:

Basically just a countersunk hole in the grommet for the bolt to go into, so the rubber will compress around the bolt and the bolt will slide through the bulkhead without hitting anything, so you get maximum compression with minimal damage.

Was more work on the aftershock since I had to make a plate for the bumper since it's plastic. Otherwise it would just flop around. Besides, doing it this way made for a much better bumper support anyway. Have a similar setup on my savage... When something works so well, it's hard to not do it to everything!
 
Well said plaidfish. I have integy skids and chassis braces on my maxx. I've bashed this thing into the ground. They're still holding up. To each his own I guess.
