I can imagine that this is a regular query. I purchased my Inferno Neo 2.0 and got Tornado Car 25 fuel. The model has been running great on this but it is hard to get hold of. When I search the web there are other manufactures notably Optifuel and Model Technics. I have read somewhere on the forums that the latter is not very good, but I must admit I have used Model Technics for years on my planes and the engines are still running fine. Also what Nitro content should I be using? I gather Car 25 is 25%.

anything between 20-30% is fine. I've never used either of those brands...I think I've heard of optifuel but I dont know anything about it. Are you in the US or elsewhere? Maybe someone can recommend a good brand and a site for the location you live in.

Sounds like your from the UK, in that case either Optifuel Race 25% as its easy to get hold of and decent fuel (Don't get the RTR mix as its too oily and will still smoke heavily at very lean settings, also makes the engine run hotter than the race mix), or my favourite so far VP Powermaster 25% or 30% (engine may need an extra head shim for 30% - check your manual)
Model Technics sell many different blends of fuel, only 3 of which are really suitable for cars, the rest are heli and plane fuels.
Byrons Race Gen 2 fuel is also good and easy to get hold of.

a guy at my LHS has told me that if i go up nitro% that its not recommended to go back as it can damage the engine, he couldnt offer much more explanation then that and I'm not sure how much truth there is to that. but thought id just chime that in here since your looking at changing fuels.

I switch back and forth from time to time from 20 to 30% if one or the other is on sale...I've never noticed any issues. I'm no expert though by any means.

Same here, i have 20% and 25% and switch between the 2 if i run out of one, as long as you realise you will need to retune, i don't see the problem. It's never caused me any issues either.

I switch from 30-33% byrons all the time like everyone else has said never had a issue. May have to lean or ritchen the high end needle a little but no biggie to me. I buy what's on sale . I got a few engines with 8-10 gallons of fuel ran through them and there still running strong. I also run a little higher nitro content just to get better performance and still have had no issues. 33% is the highest I run in my cars though. I personally think the whole stick with one fuel and nitro content is total crap. Just my opinion.

I would recommend Model Technics 20% with sicle. It made a HUGE improvement to the performance and smells like a real top fuel dragster. 25% is WAY to much for a buggy like that. it puts too much strain on the engine and should only be used for racing.
