Which failsafe?

Hey guys! I'm ordering a failsafe and was wondering which one is the best?

I use the OFNA micro failsafe and so far it has worked well for me. I also have an XTM failsafe. It's a bit bigger and didn't work well with the Traxxas radio in my T-Maxx. So far it's been fine in my RS4.

I have a Venom and it works great. Bought it off of ebay my lhs did not carry venom.

Can somebody post a pic of a fail safe? I've never seen one and don't understand how it works or if it would be worth buying one. Thanks guys.

I was going to buy the futuba one but then i released i couldnt find any one in the UK that sells them. And I've good things about the Ofna ones!

A failsafe is a device that you install inline with one of your servos. Typically, we install them on the throttle channel. A failsafe monitors radio signal and battery strength. If for any reason the reciever loses the signal from the transmitter, detects interference from another transmitter on the same frequency, or detects the reciever batteries are about to die, it will move the throttle servo to a preset position. Usually this position is a braking position. So, if you lose radio signal, the failsafe will automatically apply the brakes so the car doesn't take off at full speed out of control.

While you are at it, rig up a throttle return spring. I say this becauise if for some reason power gets shut off to the fail safe, your can still have a runaway. If there is a spring there, the throttle will go back to idle, and the day is saved.

I have had my Ofna for about 10 months now, It has saved me from a run away several times, Dont forget the TRS!

I use the Venom Failsafe and the OFNA micro failsafe. both work great. the OFNA one is really tinny, saves space and its also cheaper price tag.
