Both rigs are very durable, but 2 differant styles of truck, the Savage I hear is a great factory stock basher, but the slash is just as good IMO, but depending on what kind of bashing, you will have fun either way, both are great trucks. I have not owned either personally, but I do own a 4x4 Slash VXL and all I can say, is out of the box, before anything is hopped-up, I would go with RPM a-arms all around, I have not heard anything bad about their products breaking and will surely take whatever you can run over.

Somewhat hard to compare a short course with a monster truck. I would go with the savy.

For bashing the Savage hands down. The larger tires, more weight, and more overall ground clearance make it better suited to this task. If you were going to race now and again, it would be a much different story.
