What Happens on the storms is the rear hinge pin block screw gets pulled out ripping the chassis. The hole is to close to the edge of the chassis which is what casues this fault. Even the pro chassis has failed in this way, however the Fioroni chassis does not suffer from this problem.

As for the XTR 3E... I owned one... Never again. Although Schumacher has to be congatulated on making a car that both Sucks and Blows at the same time. To see in action Click Here

I think it's an overpowered stadium truck with a .21 engine. I've seen one and the parts look cheap and chassis looks weak.

How right you are. Wish Bones bust in a breeze, turnbuckles fall off at the slightest bump, wheel brgs fail regulary melting driveshaft and wheel, gear box strips gears regulary, ball diff granades it self at the drop of a hat, rear bumbers break at the slightest bad landing. Need i go on? THEY ARE PANTS:flaming:

I Love my H7:bling:

As with all buggys they break, But i race against Storms and everyone of them has broke a chassis and at £50.00 a bat that gets a bit pricey. Also Hobao (ofna) spares are about 30-40% cheaper then storm parts and even more so the Koyoshi parts.

Hey I Love my 7:cheers:

Or you can get a fioroni chassis. I get dealer prices :D My friend broke the rear arm mount hole on the stock chassis crashing into stuff, But thats bashing.

Hey there guys ,i just registered after reading this thread and tought you guys might like some info on buggies from down under ,here in Australia.Firstly, mabe because we are closer to Asia than you guys might be why we have this info and you don't.The lightning pro is made by a company in Asia called Ming Yang and therfore Hot Bodies are only the distibutor for the car in the states. Here in Australia the car is known as the Sacker Pro.Just like you guys the car is fairly new to us,however the pro was raced in this years New Zealand(a country just south east off Australia)nationals. This was the cars first major outing in the hands of the pros, the car TQ'D and ended up 2nd&3rd in the Nationals. The winner of the Nationals will now be racing the Sacker Pro(Lightning) for the 2003-2004 season. Also Atsushi Hara(former touring car world champ)will be racing the Lightning Pro at major events around the world later on in the year. The car is also being driven by a writer for our national r/c car magazine (Racing Lines)[email protected] has used it to TQ,Win & set new track records. So down here the car is making a very good name for it self.By the way i don't own a Sacker Pro or race 1/8th buggies,i however race an mtx3 in touring cars, i however wil be getting my first buggy soon and can't decide between the Sacker,Kyosho or Mugen.Although going by the results it might be the Sacker Pro.

OMG!

Someone has finally solved the greatest mistery. Who made the Lightning Pro? Ming Yang

All that good info about the pro drivers picking up the slacker pro (lightning pro). Good info!

2nd and 3rd in the New Zealand Nationals!

Thanks so much for joining the forum. I've been taking a beating from humboldt ever since I bought my Lightning (Slacker) Pro a couple of months ago. I love my Slacker Pro.

My advice to people looking to buy a buggy.

If money is no object:
play it safe and limit your options to the Kyoshos and Mugens.

If you're on a budget:
buy the Lightning Pro but sell the engine on ebay as soon as you get it.

I'm glad to see that the Lightning Pro possey is growing. I've seen numerous 1 or 2 posters sign up just to slam humboldt.

ALSO NOTE THE LIGHTNING RR IS NOT A GOOD OPTION! IF YOU BUY THE RR, YOU'RE MISSING OUT ON THE SWEET CHASSIS HOP-UPS THAT COME STANDARD ON THE LIGHTNING PRO!

Good Luck with your purchase. I sent you PM about rcboys.com but these guys have already told you that. Yesterday they had two in stock (I called for you). Hurry if you still want one.

The Storm and Lightening are growing into competetive racers, the Lightning certainly means business and aren't shy about it. I am considering a new buggy next summer and it might be between the Lightning Pro or MBX5 or the Acer AR-8 if it's actually good.

I'd go with the mbx5 if you have the money. The mbx5 is a complete redesign where the Lightning Pro follows the 10 year old Kyosho Inferno style.

ok after days/weeks of deciding. I think I have decided. Well, not on one particular one, but i have narrowed it down to 2. yes count that two (2). Between the GS Racing Storm PRO!, or the Hyper 7............ I still have about a month to decide, I want to get it b4 i go off to college, so i can tear up the nice green grass w/ it, and then tear up the parking lots with my NTC3. What do you guys think??????

I could get you Fioroni, Hot! Products, Arrows and Medial pro items for dealer price if you get a Storm pro :D lol The storm is a GREAT car! I have one and so does my buddy. 40 feet in the air, no damage!

can you get me a storm pro, for cheap??????? lol j/k I am still trying to decide, the Hyper 7 has a lot of hop-ups, but i have heard that the storm pro has them too, I just have not seen a storm in action yet, that is what i am waiting for. I want to see it in person. I have seen the Hy7 but not the storm soooo, i am still tryiong to see if the LHS will get one in so i can see it.

Were do you live, maybe I could send you a video of my friends Storm that I taped, but it would mainly show the strength of the car (kid can't tune). 45 foot jumps, roosters, and more

Sackers

Hey guys
Well quite heated on the cheap cars in here, this is my opinion, matbe not yours, I run and race competetivley in Newzealand. I have 3 breeds of car, first is a sacker pro running a RB concepts motor, this car for a cheap breed i cannot fault, i have had a few probs like pulling screws through the chassis on the strut braces, but all in all this is a very reliable car, I also have a Mugen MBX5 prospec (AWESOME to say the least but is about 3 time the price of the sacker, if you want to spend big bucks then this would be my car of choice, I allso have a 7.5 Kanai III which is a lot like the Sacker (since the sacker is an exact replica of it) Sacker would have to be the biggest selling start noob car in NewZealand ANd believe it or not it is actually winning races, after all if they are setup right and has a horse it will handle like anything, the upside to the sacker is that if there is something from the kyosho 7.5 that you like then just buy it and put it on your sacker, guess what they all interchange ( i am a mugen sponsered driver so this has to stand for something.
