Hey guys, I need to raise my engine a half inch in my T-Maxx. Where can I find some 1/2" stock so I can make a pair of risers?

ARe you looking to shim the engine higher?

mcmaster seems expensive, you could probably find what you need at any napa store, or home depot, lowes.

A LHS well at least mine has some ralis of it in stock for airplanes. I got a rail before to shim my engines. Let me know and I will see what I have left and shipp some out to you..

yeah, I assume alluminum would be best, since it'll go between the engine and the mounts. I understand it needs to conduct heat so the mount and chassis can disperse it properly.

Jon- yeah, I need to lift it so the shaft screw on my .26 can clear the tranny.

I'm goin up to my LHS today so I'll see what they have although I doubt they'llhave anything that thick, but who knows... maybe. I'll be stopping by Lowe's as well, so that's another go.

thanks for the offer Jon, I'll see what I can find before I bother ya.

if you can't find what you are looking for, you can get it at MSC. They see all sorts of machining supplies and metal stock. You can get a 1/2in. chunk of Aluminum for around $30-35 depending on the length and width.

I have ordered tools and metal stock from them before and it doesn't take long to get the things you order. Less than a week most of the time.

Lessen, I will look at work tomorrow.
If I have anything it's yours, but you will have to cut it yourself.
I'll post tomorrow night.

I am not to sure if it would work, but what about brake tubbing, that is metal right? MY friend was going to use that stuff as a motor mount.
