Wheres should I Buy my savage from?

Ultimatehobbies has it for $370 and free shipping...how reliable/fast are they at shipping? i was gonna order from my LHS but on there site they list the savage rtr as $451.99 ouch. If i went in to order it right therer would i get it cheaper or no?

For the Rotostart...does an electric drill work to?

yea an electric drill would work just take the shaft that comes with the savage and put it on it. the electric drill would last a lot longer. just watch out if you flood unflood it right away or you'll break your one way bearing(i broke 4 and i just bought a pull start. o thank heaven) lol

Ulitmate hobbies is a great hobby shop. They have excellent customer service and shipping takes 2-3 days. I would also look at www.RushRC.com he is a forum sponsor and a great guy he could hook you up.

thats a good price but i get my stuff locally. i picked mine up for around 400 at hobbytown USA...i dont like to order online unless i have too..........but from i hear ultimate hobby is a good store along with towerhobbies.

If your getting rtr read the following message if not disregard make sure you get the new version with the 4 spider gear mod.

i got my truck from ultimatehobby but i went to the city and picked it up. man it's the biggest rc hobby shop i have ever seen and they just moved to a new building. prolly the best deal you'll find.

how exactly do i know if I'm gonna get a 'new version' ?

i am ordering it tomorrow :D will probably order from ultimatehobbies. cheapest price by $20+ and free shipping..u can't beat that with a stick.

gonna buy it from rushrc, figure'd id support the forum and it comes with the new diffs and steering setup.

thanks guys.

Go easy on the drill. I broke (2) one-way bearings in a span of about 30 min cause the clutch on my drill was set to tight.

good choice he will do you right ...enjoy the savage

my electric drill has 23 diff trq settins...ill put it on the lowest trq setting i suppose lol.

bought it from rushrc - bought it, glow starter, and a temp gun.

just need to buy the fuel and 12 AA's forthe radio. might just wait til it gets in than go buy the fuel from the LHS...or i might go buy it tomorrow or monday.

can't wait for it to get in :w00t:

i would really think about spending another $50 and get a 6v rechargable battery pack instead of the 4 aa's in the truck ...it will give the servo's better voltage for better turning ......at the VERY least put a cable tie or hair scrunchie on the 4 aa pack so they dont fall out and cause your $500 truck to crash in a wall at 40mph

and a failsafe ...i would never run without one . .they put the trucks brakes on if there radio interferance or a dead / dying battery ...for $25 it will save you many times that in broken parts someday ..because sooner or later you will have a run away
