Ok, so I been snooping around that very other famous R/C forum, other than RCNT, the one that specializes in crawling..hint hint.

I've run into a few posts where a tekin rep...well at least I think he is, anyways he recommended a tekin RSX ESC to be paired with either the pro4 or the RoC412. Id be happy to try either set up. Now here's my dilema everywhere I look it doesn't seem like I'm able to buy them in combo form. Now I've only check amain, and a few Canadian R/C shops.

I have no doubt they're great ESC's, but both motors will work great (as many, many people can attest to) on the Castle Mamba Max Pro, including the sensor port, and it will save you around $100 that way. Mine has been waterproofed as is still running strong with my pro4 no issues.

This will tie into my steering servo thread but ill mention it anyway, one of the selling features I liked about the RSX is that it has a built in 6.0v-7.4v BEC. I'm negotiating the release of either an HS-7950TG or a HS-7980TG from the hobby shop where I got my first order of vanquish products from. I'm trying to see if he'll swing me a deal on either of the two if I buy more vanquish products from them for my wraith, but no reply yet. The web site says they price match.

Hmmm the RSX specs say its for 2 pole motors, and if 4 pole motors have more torque then I might be happier with the MMP, but I really like the way the RX8 GEN2 specs look, since it also has the 6.0v-7.4v BEC, and there's no motor limit < this sounds like a fun aspect for me, but not for my drivetrain.

The MMP has a high output BEC as well. BUT, you don't need to run any servo over 200oz or so on a built in BEC, you're just going to get brown outs on your gear due to the amps those servos will need to operate. Even my puny (compared to those two) Savox in my SC10 will brown out my RX without an external BEC. It's simply a good idea, and a cheap investment to ensure your RX doesn't brown out.

Also, the 7980 really isn't needed. The 7950 is a beast of a servo, and besides, the 7980 won't fit standard servo mounts either, as it's larger than a standard servo.

Thanks HS-7950 it is one less part to decide upon. So what exactly am I looking for when shopping for a BEC?

Well the wraith I scooped has a Holmes hobbies BRXL, with a brushed 27T sport motor, but while I have the cash burning a hole in my wallet, I figured it could be a good idea to upgrade the power plant, and go brushless, what am I looking for in a BEC to power the HS-7950TG

Just a regular Castle 10A BEC, like this.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product...8210/n/Castle-Creations-10-Amp-Adjustable-BEC.

Also be aware that if you go brushless, chances are that the entire drive line will most likely need upgraded if it's still stock. Either now or as you break it, piece by piece. :D

No, I'm definitely one of those before you break it based on the "I hate plastic in my drivelines"...and so I'm not down waiting for something in the mail.

By the way it was fitted with Robinson racing transmission gears. As for driveshafts I so want the punishers, but for convenience cause they're close at hand I'll most likely use the jun-fac carbon steel driveshafts, since its the topic how are the MiP one holding up?

If you already have the RR trans gears, then I'd just add 32P spur and pinion on the trans, possibly an alloy case to prevent flexing, and HD outdrives and the trans should be good to go.

The MIP shafts are holding up great, taking all I've thrown at them in stride. Either of the other options should be fine, I would think. I would probably go punisher over the Jun Fac for the splined shafts if it were me to spread the load over more surface area, just my $.02.

You'll also need to beef up the internals on the axles themselves eventually. Axial HD ring and pinion gears, and some type of universal drives in the front housing. Keep an eye on the pinion bearings also, they're known to take a lot of the abuse in the AR60 housings in high HP applications, and when they fail the pinion can shift enough under load to shell out the teeth on the R&P. And shim them when installing also, and they should last much longer than usual.

Yup on it my first wraith purchases was goin to look something like this:

Jun-Fac driveshafts/most likely breakdown for punishers.
VP Axial wraith 10pc link kit.
VP wraith panhard kit.
VP chassis mounted servo kit.
VP wraith HD VVD axle shafts.
Axial HD ring/pinion sets.
RRP High Performance GEN3 Slipper Units.
RRP Axial Wraith One Piece Hardened Steel Outdrive/Diff Locker Gear.
VP KMC XD-795 in silver, or black, simply because I don't know if I have to buy 4 of everything for the 2.2 OMFs.

HS-7950TG.
Alloy servo arm.
BEC.

Alloy shocks of some manner. If You guys think I'm missing something please jump in.

Looks like a solid list to me. If you plan on doing any crawling, I highly recommend under driving the rear axle using the 43/13 gear set. It helps a lot with crawling, with no ill effects when bashing around.

Move the battery to the front, whether using a kit or home mod, doesn't matter. It centralizes the weight and helps everywhere, not just when crawling.

Don't use a Robitronic servo horn with the CMS setup, the drag link bolt (even a button head) sticks out far enough that if you bottom out, the tie rod can get hung on it. The Racer's Edge horns dont have the added "bump" the Robi does in the front and don't have that issue. Play around with your CMS mount position and get the drag link and pan hard bar as parallel to each other as you can, to eliminate bump steer.

I'm listening. I was going to try the G-Transitions, or the zeros, but I'm worried that it'll be difficult to find springs for them. And in three whole sale hobby shops in Edmonton, it seems like I have to order anything losi not related to the 1/5 scales or micros. I still can't get a set of extra LST2 shocks in that entire town.

So back on the local trading post I found a tekin RX8/Pro4 4600kv combo with Hotwire included. The add says almost a year old, only ran a few times at the track. Got a reply an the seller wants 240.00, now I happen to think this is a steal even though its not the ideal KV, and it probably has no warranty to speak of. Do you guys think I'll have any problems if I make an attempt on it for the wraith?......is it even a deal?

I personally wouldn't pay that for a used setup that I have no idea how it's been treated, and no warranty when I can pay $10 more and get a brand new MMP and pro4.

Well that's got me sold! Definitely better for new, if its a mere $10 more, and in the KV that I want to begin with, and the best part is there will be warranty.

Yes it will be. I had thought about doing a 550 can, something in a Pro4HD, but I think they're too long for the wraith.....or there needs to be modding done, also everyone on RCC seems to frown upon it like it was....prohibie-dado! And I have not the patience to go through they're threads trying to make a comparison list of the pro&cons.
