The truck seems to run fine and steer fine so I doubt that..

I'm going to have to agree with revo bud.. best think you can do i would think is really try and pinpoint the location, i know not everyone has one but if u think diff. then try a stethoscope on the diff. will help to at least find the location of the problem

hmmmmm I really hope it isn't that :( My dad is like a pro mechanic, I'll ask him if that's what it might be.. If he doesn't know i'll take it to my dad's friend, he has like 10 RC's and he races them.. i'm sure he'll get it figured out, I'll try to figure out if it's the diff or not.. The truck runs great and there's no problems with driving besides the fact that It cuts off on me after a little bit of running, but i'm working on that.. The only time it ticks is when it's off or when i hit the brakes.

Sorry bud i hope you figure it out.. If i was wrong and its not the diff. then how abouts you get to give me a swift kick in the a$$? (damn i hate always being wrong)

Sometimes, when a diff starts to wear, the teeth will only skip in one direction. That's why you hear it when backing up or braking.

Also check the teeth on your spur gear just to be sure. When you roll the truck, the spur will spin and it's possible there's a chipped tooth there. But I'd also agree with these guys that there is more likely a diff issue.

ok thanks for the help guys.. i'll get the problem solved and fixed :P

So I've taken the entire back of my truck off and gotten the back diff out, it had some serious grease which i cleaned and i sprayed it with some WD-40 pretty heavily, let it drip/dry out and it seems to spin, I haven't put it back in yet, because I want to be sure I've fixed it.. There's nothing chipped on the gears at all, so is there anything else I need to check? I want to be sure, it took a long time to get to it, I even removed the entire engine >_>

Check your breaks. You might want to make sure nothing is binding on the disk. It happen to me once and that caused a clicking noise. Just look through your drive train and shim your diffs to be sure.

Best advice though, Is sell it. Maxxes are weak trucks. And unless you wanna spend a but ton on fixing it every time you run it it's not worth it. save up and buy a aftershock off amain for 320. It's twice the truck in every aspect and a 110% better radio and gear. It's big Block so it has tons of power and a very strong truck.

I've had this truck for a while, Losi, I don't plan on selling it unless I really want to sell it and get a new one.. otherwise i'm keeping this baby, there's nothing majorly wrong with it, and if there is, I'll try to fix it every time, but if It continulessly tears up, I'll sell it and get something else.
