I can grab the tires/wheels on my Tmaxx and it wobbles from side to side and up and down. The front is worse than the rear. Do I need new knuckles or can I replace the bearings in the knuckles to take care of the problem?

are you sure its the berrings or knuckle ?
i would check the turnbuckle ends to make sure they arnt worn at the ball ends and have slack before going to the extent of replacing the knuckles.......
if you have the bronze bushing type of wheel berrings they need to be replaced with ball berrings.....if you have ball berrings in the wheels and replaced them about 3 times and are still using the stock knuckles i would buy a new ball berring set (8) and replace the stock knuckles with alluminum or titanium ones.....those are hard to wear out & will last through many ball berring changes.......but the first thing i would check is to see if the turnbuckle ends do not have slack in the ball ends............make sure the nuts that hold the rim/wheels on are snug also......

On a maxx, it has pillow ball pivots on the end of the arms. When driving, the pillow ball caps tend to loosen up on you over time. This causes the pillow ball to float around in the carrier. Check to make sure it isn't this before buying bearings and whatnot. I've been having the same problem on my revo since I got it. I just replaced all carriers with RPM on it and as difficult as it was to put the caps in, I can't imagine they will work themselves loose like the stock ones did...
If you end up wanting/needing to replace the carriers, I'd suggest getting the RPM carriers. They use larger bearings which last longer.

Olds, try teflon tape on the caps....it stops them from loosening up alot....

i second the rpm carriers. the 15mm bearing dwarfs the stock (12mm??) bearing and the carrier all around is much stronger.

It sounds like something is loose for sure. Check everything from the wheel nut to the rod ends before you go buying anything. I had extra play on a wheel the other day and it ended up being a rod end that finnaly broke off.

I don't know why I didn't think of that... I was having problems on my revo, but then a couple bearings were going out, so I replaced all 4 carriers with RPM. RPM's design (or my mistake) makes those pillow ball caps really freaking tight! I don't know if I cross threaded them or not, but they all sucked. I can't imagine I would have screwed up all 8 though... they were all equally as annoying to put together.
Thanks for the tip. I'll remember that in case I ever need to go back to stock for backup.
