hey all!!
heres my question. why doesn't RPM make t e and sportmaxx bulk heads out of there special nylon composite stuff, or whatever it is. i think it would be killer to have RPM bulk heads. I'm gonna get in touch with RPM and ask them whats up with that. ill tell you guys what i find out. till then what do you guys think about this?? ill post pics of my e-maxx with an RPM front end. i ordered all the rpm stuff for my truck butt i didnt have enuff money to get all of it just the front end done. I'm also gonna do my t in all black rpm it will look good in the end. (i hope)

Their is a design flaw in doing it.

Trust everyone that tells you this. Including RPM.

If they could, they would. They would sell TONS of them the first day.

I'm thinking the flaw is the small threaded areas on the bottom of the bulks. Along with the area being cut away where the hinge pins ultimately go. It may just not be strong enough to cut out and still have the same quality as the rest of the RPM line.

They take great pride in being able to say 'It wont break, period. And if it does, we will replace it for life.' And for as long as they can't make bulks to meet that extreme, they wont.

I wish they would though, along with you and the others who feel the same way.

shrug, sniffle sniffle

Not to be off topic, but I did shoot them an email asking them why they don't make arms for the losi xxx-nt.

There response was something to the sort of: Losi machines all their parts with to tight of a tolerence for RPM to get enough of their killer plastic in the problem areas.

They said they could make them, but wouldn't be able to stand behind them like they do with their other stuff. So, instead of putting a ding in thier armor, the opt not to make them. They do make a killer bumper for it though!

Another flaw in the design would be the plastic that RPM uses in most of its parts. The stuff is pretty darn soft by comparison. The last thing that you want to have any real give in are your bulkheads. Talk about asking for drivetrain problems. Imagine the front end flexing under torque do to soft plastic bulks.

I think RPM is in the right for not wanting to go down that road quite yet.

ya there mateiriel they use is very soft in comparison, and it would flex signifigantly under load. i still think it would be awsome if they could fix that flaw or maybe change the setup a little to make it work.

Now your just being silly.

Although... I have wondered why they don't put steel inside the plastic. Make a steel skeleton for the part and encase it in plastic. That way, if it cracks, it's still usable and light. Or lighter.
