Whats a faster engine ?

first i want to ask , for my super nitro rs4, what would be a better size engine, a .12 or a .15. next i guess ill ask what engines.

Fantom .15
OS CVrx .15

Fantom .12
OS CVrx .12

these are my main engines now because they are the only good ones i could find with a pull start, I'm still thinking about getting a starter box, but i am just not sure if i want to lug it around all the time . beign that i have to walk to most of the places i drive (I'm in college, no real car here) if i am convinced that a start box is far better, ill do it, but i really dont know if i need to be hitting 70 mph if I'm just a parking lot basher, it would be nice to own the parking lot though :arrr:

My recomendation would be the Fantom FR-15. It has tons of RPM and should work great in an on road car. One other engine that is worth mentioning is a Picco. They scream. Some of the other guys here could probably give you the part number for your application.

Any one of these three would be good choices for you though.

excellent, i think ill probably go for the 15 because I'm a big fan of torque, i like top speed, but i think a torqued engine will also be able to take me real fast, i really like the looks of the fantom 15 and I've heard good things about them . i will check into that picco though , thanks .

this might sound stupid, but what about the Sirio .18 ?

just to let you know the HPI .12 SS has better specs than all 4 of the above engines

really , what are the specs on the 12 ss ? the OS .15 CV-RX has 1.2 hp . and the fantom FR puts down 1.35 hp

I did not know that fantoms were rated that high wow! They have improved their engines if the BHP is correct. The ss is like 1.1 or 1.2 so maybe its not as good but it is a legal at least for ROAR .12 racing engine and those engines are .15

Actually THe HPI 12R SS isnt as good a quality as the OS or Fantom engines. GO with an OS or Fantom. 12R SS loses its compression faster. Good for Quick bursts of Speed though.

I heard the ss was developed by Rossi, was I wrong?

Could have been Joint Developed between HPI and Rossi, but i doubt it. The engine still isnt that good. OS, Fantom, a Rossi would be Good TOO!!!
