I'm sorry to hear that too bro. I remember when the original placed opened up. Over the years I got to know the female waitstaff, couple of them could hardly speak English. I had a favorite Burrito I liked and they knew that's what I was gonna order everytime. The manager (of the other restaurant) gave me his number so I could call ahead to make sure they had Flan available for me.
As I was leaving today I slowed way down took a slow look around the interior of this new owner's place because I'm not going back. As I mention, it is like I'm losing a real good friend. One less of my favorite places to eat .

This happened to us a while back. We were regulars at a small hole in the wall place, they always went out of their way to give us extras, and always asked if we wanted the usual. When we found out they were closing down we were sad. As you said felt like losing a good friend.

I came across a package of lamb liver today at my local Market Basket. Never seen it sold here before. Only $3/lb, so I picked up a pack.

When I was a boy my mother would set aside the chicken gizzards for me when she fried chicken. Also when I was a boy we ate a fair amount of beef heart. I haven't had either for such a very very long time.

Wife made a crock pot roast, I mixed some with grilled onions and shredded cheese and grilled sandwiches. Horseradish and tots tops it off.

I know how the question sounds does bacon grease taste like bacon? It sounds like something I'd love, but it's literally inexistent here. I would have never known about it if I hadn't seen it on this thread. I can only find lard... in a Polish shop
