No photo of this morning's breakfast of two fried egg sandwiches on whole wheat toast. For most of my life, I enjoyed a very healthy application of Frank's Hot Sauce on eggs of any style (and practically anything else, for that matter... I actually buy Frank's in the half-gallon size to frequently refill the "normal" size bottle I use at the table).

But then I was introduced to LaoGanMa chili crisp sauce, or "crack in condiment form." I have become addicted to this stuff in a way similar to my addiction to morning coffee. If you enjoy a little heat and you haven't tried this stuff, you don't know what you're missing. Try it at your own risk.

As for other brands of chili crisp, Fly By Zing is fantastic, but too pricey for me. I've only tried these two brands...

Looks like they have that LaoGanMa at my Super Walmart. I'm going to give it a try.

My recommendations: Huy Fong srircha (aka rooster sauce); El Yucateco(original red); Melinda's Bhut Jolokia ghost pepper(its actually not insanely hot).

Thanks for the recommendations. I have sriracha and Melinda's, but haven't tried El Yucateco. I'll order some up. I'm about due for an order to Mo Hotta Mo Betta, my usual hot sauce source. I still have a bottle of Dave's Insanity Sauce sitting in my fridge from my first order there many years ago. The stuff is way too hot for me to use in any way! 🤯

My first attempt at bang bang shrimp. Motivated by a YT recommendation. Really good, but it wasn't as crunchy as I would have like. Not sure if I didn't cook it long enough or if the oil temp was not high enough. Still yummy though.
Served it over a bed of lettuce and rice. Topped with plenty of scallions and cilantro.

No amount of green stuff can hide those sea roaches! If you leave them outside they will get crunchy, but they might be a little tough..

The last couple a dinners have been Chicken and Chile Rellenos soup with Quinoa. My best friend and his wife give me food all the time (think they feel sorry for me 😂). I mentioned this once before, they are both amazingly talented cooks. This soup was so good.

Sounds good!

My daughter just came home from a month in Australia. Part of schooling. She came home with some Aussie treats for us.

@Warby
I've been eating way too many TimTam's at work recently. I've had to stop, cold turkey this week. No more for me.
