That doesn't look bad at all.

We're in Maryland right now, about 20min from the University of Delaware. Dropping off our first child at college tomorrow.
My wife found a local seafood place with take good reviews nearby: Woody's Crab House. Started off with a beer that wasn't cold enough. My Caesar salad had bland dressing and stale croutons. Not really having confidence with the quality of the entree at this point. I got a fried soft shell blue crab and crab cake with hush puppies. The soft shell crab want bad but really salty batter. The crab cake was pretty good but a tad dry. At least the hush puppies were really good. My wife got the broiled seafood and my daughter got salmon. Both were way overcooked.
Obviously, just a tourist trap. Bummer.
What made it even worst, was my daughter started tearing up at dinner. The realization of being so far from home(just under 400 miles), away from friends and family, and being with all new people and environment finally sinking in. Hurts to see my little girl scared and sad 😢

Yeah, you really gotta research crab places as there are a lot of tourist trap ones like you stated, in MD and DE. Higgins Seafood is good. There's some really good ones out here in Central/Western MD. Hope you like MD! Would love to visit NH in the fall!

Your daughter will make new friends soon enough. There will be a lot of kids there in the same boat, so lots of new friends to choose from ;)

Maybe volunteer to drive some of her friends for a visit for a couple weekends?

You using Power Director? There are some cool effects in it, but I don't play with them much. Gonna have to up my game now ;)

We should have asked the hotel person instead of just going off Google. Oh, well.
It should have been a 6.5hr ride, but driving on a Friday, it took us nearly 9hrs. A fraction of that was the fault of a rest area Burger King. It took about 25min for them to make me a fish sandwich, and even then it was about as good as the food from Woody's.
New England is quite spectacular in the Fall. Everyone should need to get up here at least once in a lifetime.
 
That's the same way I feel about Parke County Indiana once per year. There is like a week or two period where it's just beautiful here.

During this time the Covered Bridge festival brings millions in to see it. Last I heard it was over 6 million people that poured into Parke county for the festival. This photo below of Mannsfield is just one of 3 big festivals in the county. There is another big one in Rockville and another big one in Bridgeton. But you find flea markets and sales EVERYWHERE you go in the county. Surrounding counties also join in and you see yard sales, flea markets, and roadside vendors for more than 50 miles away from the festival.

Back on topic... it brings some of the best food you'll ever taste, from all around the world. I've met vendors that came from every continent, and nearly every country at this festival. One guy I met at a bar was sent from New Zealand by his company to promote their brand.

And you can spend a week in Parke county and not see all the flea markets, or taste all the various treats. Mostly because driving from one festival or flea market to the other is a day of sitting in a traffic jam lol. That's one of the things I miss about being mobile - I really miss this event. The food... OMG!

Oh... parking is usually at least $10/car. Can you see who's making all the money? There's over 5000 cars in the photo above. Multiply that by $10, then multiply that by 10 days, then consider the fact that cars pour in and out all day and into the night 😉

This morning is starting out on a good note. The Best Western complimentary breakfast is descent. I had 2 large portions of scrambled eggs, 2 sausage patties, and 2 make yourself Belgian waffles. 2 cups of coffee.
I'm stuffed! I can probably go until dinner now.
 
@Xraycer sorry to hear that. Only seafood I do is shrimp. Glad to hear breakfast seemed better.

georgous place to be. I would love to prune one of those trees. I bet they are a softer wood. 😁

Shrimp salad for lunch. Fighting two of three landsharks for it.

Lol.....we haven't bought corn dogs for a while, but, I just went to the freezer for lunch and BAM.....wifey picked up some corn dogs!!!! :thumbs-up::p

Crazy....she must be like a google bot or something.....saw me texting about your corn dogs the other day and added it to the grocery list!!! 😂
