I'm thinking about getting some highperformace 45-56mm shocks for my rs4 3 18ss and I've never delt with shock oil b4 can anyone recomend a good shock weight? and ill be bashing thanks. any help will be appreciated.

id recommend 50-55wt silicone shock oil, thats what i use and it seems to work good with me. i use medium-hard springs.
edited: i use the Trinity Brand, some other brands may have a slight diffrence in there 55wt shock oil.

What kind of shocks are they??? I am going to be getting one of these (two of my friends just got a pair.), so i will need to set mine up for some bashing.

i plan to go with hpi threaded aluminum 45-56mm shocks and I'm not sure which springs it comes with.. but it says "Two pro linear springs 13x29mm blue 264 gf/mm" so I'm thinking medium-hard? anyone know of better shocks ? ty

I would think with rubber tires and unprepared (regular) asphalt, I would go with about 40 wt oil. If you're using foams, maybe 50 wt. Wouldn't it just be pretty loose all the time with hard tires/springs/oil on a bumpy surface?

The heavier oil used, the faster steering response.

You can't always use heavy oil (70W) if you are in bumpy conditions.

In my eyes, 55-60W is standard, anything lower is light, anything more is heavy.
