I have a savage 25 all stock with a 49 tooth spur. I dunno my bell size currently I assume stock. I recently took if the stock tires and went to the hpi aggressors. They are a little shorter and lighter. Tires are great traction awesome but I list all of my top end speed.... How much smaller should I go on the spur?

If theyre plastic spurs then just got a few varying sizes since they are cheap and experiment. If all you care about is top speed go the smallest one you can find. usually on nitros there isnt that big of a selection. If that still isnt enough then get a bigger clutchbell. In the end you'll most likely just have to experiemnt with it and see what suits you.

Yeah that's what I am going to end up doing. And no I just want the truck to run close to stock speed. The tires I out are shorter than factory so I lost speed. Just trying to get that speed back. I don't need it crazy fast. I have a 49 and put a 47 that smallest my LHS had. It helped but not enough. Gonna have to go snaller

Shouldn't he go with smaller clutch bell to acheive the top end? I put the trenchers on my truck and upgraded to 47 spur 16 clutch bell.

No, you want a smaller spur gear and a larger CB/pinion gear to achieve a higher top end.
