If you don't want to consider the Slash then have a look at the SC10 or the Blitz as your first choices in the 2WD catagory.I own a Slash,2 SC10's and a Blitz.I also HAD a Losi Strike and the only bits worth keeping were the 2.4 ghz receiver and the tires! If I could only have one short course truck I would say the Blitz-good performance and great handling out of the box. Having said that, all my trucks have been converted to brushless-the only way to go.

thanks can the blitz take lipos stock

just be mindfull of run times when using lipo on the blitz, esc has no LVC. and you need to convert the connectors to deans.
i have a blitz and after doing the mods which the designer recommends its a blast to run. its all stock except use of lipo.

confused: need help

my two cents is the blitz all the way, i love mine. my neighbor has a sc10 and hates it. he can't get tire other than stock unless he forks out the money for beedlocks. the blitz has 12mm hexes so there are alot of choices for me. the stock tires are belted and dont expand when i run brushless and are alot eiser to control. the blitz handles great shock adjustment is just a trun of the collar and no stupid clips. has captured hinge pins i can keep goin but try a blitz you wont be dissapointed....:thumbup1:

I currently have the following:

HPI Blitz
Losi Strike
Traxxas Slash x 2
AE SC8
AE SC10 (sold it a few weeks ago)

** If you want to only bash, go with the waterproof / bombproof Slash **
** If you think you may hit the track and a bit of bash, go with the Blitz **

Blitz = looks great / handles awesome / backed by great company (HPI)

Slash = looks so so / handles OK / super durable / tons of upgrades

The Strike is extremely fragile, and Losi is still working this truck out. It is plenty fast around a track as long as it stays together but is not for bashing in my opinion. The SC10 looks great and there is a ton of aftermarket support, but is not the most durable SCT either. Out of the box handling on the SC10 is a little frustrating unless you have a light trigger finger.

This is my 2 cents based on an out-of-the-box SCT. All of the above trucks can be made better if you are willing to spend additional time and money sorting out their flaws, but the HPI Blitz is the best of the bunch right out of the cardboard box.

i really like my slash PE talked some sc guys at the track who have owned sc10 blitz , slash seems to be the favorite.

i love the look of the blitz and everyone i have talked to love theirs. thats what i am gonna go with

You should definitely look into the Slash because it is a good truck. AE designed the SC10 to run within +/- 1 mph of the Slash so it's not going to be that much better as a race truck but will be pretty equal. You can't go wrong with either though.

Slash :thumbup1:

Waterproof, easy to drive, very durable and definitely best parts support and track/peer support

You can buy a Blitz or more race-oriented truck later and have to slash for your friends to bash with....

But really they're all sweet trucks!

Just to put my 2 cents in the slash is a glutton for punishment we put a momba monster esc on 4cell and 4600kv cc motor and jumping on local MX track and all that broke was body just wanted to throw that in there :)

on the contrary

I race the crap out of my stock strike and i have never broke anything and I'm very concistant with lap times and finishes why dose everyone hate this truck. i love mine and have convinced other racers at my track to get one:first_place:

If you want to be a serious racer, get the SC10. It isn't world champ for nothing. The Blitz is next up along with the Slash, and a Strike if you want to bash most of the time.

I have a friend who bought a Strike and then just as quickly bought a Slash :D

I didn't think it was that bad until I saw his experience with it. Would need a few upgrades to really hold up. Ie. stronger tie-rods, electronics are just glitchy as hell, etc.. Not to mention it's not roar-legal out-of-the-box. I'd say there's good reason for it being discontinued. A rare miss from Losi IMO

The Slash is still my pick for beginners - Tough as nails, waterproof electronics, tons and tons of upgrades and outstanding dealer support.

sc10

I've ran RC from my first car a LOBO from SEARS to Tayama FROGS, MIDNIGHT PUMPKINS, and LUNCHBOXES. The best car I've ever had is still a hard one to beat the Original RC 10 gold pan. I bought that car brand new from my first job 21 years ago and it still runs. so when i noticed this whole short coure trend happening I went down to the local hobby store and talked to the guys running these trucks and they were torn in what new rc truck for me to buy. I was told Ofna, Losi, and Traxxas. I asked if Associated made one and they did so thats what I bought a brand new sc10bl rtr. Dont buy a rtr the price is good but you don't learn anything. bottom line is that associated in my experience is the best out of the box Race Car. With a few shock oil and piston mods not to mention the tires, and about 4 hrs. of track time and adustments This Pro Comp 09 won the First Heat. Dead last in the 2nd.(the turn marshal took 43 sec. to find and turn the car.) With a good run in the 1st heat I had not knowingly qualified 2nd. for the main and WON! lapping 2nd place @ the buzzer. SC10 TEAM ASSOC. :first_place:
