I agree FRB System of a Down is AWESOME, just look at all the mushroom people dancing around the gate!

I listen to everything... except country... I love rock... nirvana, nickelback, metallica, puddle of mud.. and I like Hip- Hop / rap... I even like some of them oldies..

Tupac was the best and still is the best artist out there.. Changes is his best song

I would have to disagree to some degree, yes some of the things rappers rap about can be racial and derogatory....but a lot of it is just story telling...The rhythms that some rappers use can be quite amazing in my opinion...everyone has there own opinion, but I wouldn't just dismiss rap as junk.

regardless of the genre of music you love you have to respect the modern poetic quality in many of 2pacs songs...yes he had quite a few of those standard "gangsta rap" style songs..but he also had a lot that if you listen thru them intently they will move you regardless of your musical/cultural background.

as I said, tupac-changes. best song of all time!

not all of rap is descriminating, its got awesome beats, great baselines, and the lyrics are really well written. If you ACTUALLY LISTEN To the words, you will hear the story being told. Most people hear a song with one or two cuss words and go: oh its junk, its just gangsta rap, I thought rap was junk too, untill I heard tupac, after that-it was the best. Now I think rock is #2
because they dont really rhyme well, and they all sound the same with the same instruments. Noone in the rock world is really breaking out of the ordinary, its all same-o same-o, in the world of rap, people are really pushing the envelope with synthesizers, diffrent kinds of drums, even voice changers. So just keep your ears open, I dont think its wise to say that one kind of music is junk, because in music, its all about Opinion.

Some of my favs....

Pantera
Slayer
Testament
Shadows Fall
Korn
Slipknot
Hatebreed

I listen to just about anything, but usually, the heavier the better...

I like just about everything but I would have to say classic rock is my favorite followed closely by 2pac and then some of the old Dean Martin and other 'mob hits' type tracks..

and yes the stones do SUCK!! I am suprised you have not been flamed yet but atleast you know someone else agrees with you :)

I'm not saying rap is bad because they cuss a little, hip hop or whatever, yeah they sing, but the rappers can talk fast whoo hoo

To People who grew up with rap as myself rap is music and is #1 aint nutthin betta and to me rock is just a weirdo with an electric guiitar and starts screamin i have only had one rock song to like and that the old one where Limp Bizkit did the Rollin' Remix with all the rappers too many to name it all depends on what you grow up on

I'll listen to and enjoy everything except Rap. Never really appealed to me. Does listening to and drooling over Shania mean I like country too?:\ But honestly, not all country appeals to me but I'll still listen to it without complaint. Rap makes me change the station.

Forgot about De La Soul, Cyprus Hill, The Fresh Prince and Johnny Cash (RIP).

Somehow I knew this was gonna bring up some discussion, kind of like politics and religion. If ya don't like it, ya don't like it, but to point it out is beggin for a scrap. I don't particularly like Gospel or traditional Chinese music, but some of you might. The thing is, we all like r/c.

Anything but death metal, reggae and techno. I can jam out to rock, some rap, country, christian, alternative (my fav), and top 40.
I really like old school rap, like old Dre, Tha Gravediggas, Bone.
I can't listen to a bunch of beeps and do-do-do-do-do in techno. I don't see how anyone can ride down the road and listen to that. If you're in a club it's cool to dance to but not anywhere outside of that.
Humboldt, E-40 is pretty smooth. That joker can rap fast as crap.
What's emo?

My favorite groups:
Counting Crows
Jars of Clay
Linkin Park
Nickelback
George Strait

Rap Sucks. Period. 29.92 in/Hg. Golf ball, gardenhose. Harley.

Country and Western tolerable.

Gimme Rock, Alternative, Jazz, Blues, Reggae, Ska or Classical.

Hmmm,

I tend to listen to mostly 80's big hair bands and 90's alternative. Country a little bit and oldies.

mostly listen to techno. Grew up near Detroit listening to Techno and going to underground parties  :dancin: (Raves). Other music I listen to currently would include Massive Attack, RadioHead, Coldplay, lots of 80's retro synthpop bands like new order, depeche mode, joy division....etc.

In the past I have listened to alot of Funk. :fro: (Commodores, Issac hayes, etc), have always listended to classic rock from 50s through the 70's(beatles through zeppelin). The 80's supplied my walkman with tons of Hair band music and early hip hop artists like Eric B and Rakim or Afrika Bambaata. In the 90's I was listening to lots of heavy metal or Death Metal(Sepultura, Cannibal Corpse, Mushroom Head, Pantera, Judas Priest, Iron maiden, etc). Had to get a break from all the metal music though...my hearing has gone to poop.

Have been through many changes in musical tastes(No country), every year I find my CD collection growing.

80's big hair bands, oh yes. Cinderella, Winger, Bulletboys, Skid Row, Great White, and lets not forget about Motley Crue, the best band ever. E 40, old skool but good stuff. Just as long as it aint like Usher, R Kelly, BBk and all that slow jive sh!t. can't rule out Blues and Oldies.
