Good morning to all-
So, the sunrise being calm and the wind flat, I felt it was a good idea to take a small plane and myself down to the flying field to watch the sun come up. It seems that sometimes I do have a good idea, my wife's opinion to the contrary...
There was a light fog coming up with the sun, and I took my old XK Staggerwing biplane- just because I like the way it looks in the air. Perfect takeoff, some nice gentle loops and figure eights, and mainly just scale level flying, but the old yellow plane with its blinking nav lights looked a beauty as it emerged from the fog and reflected the sun off its wings. When the low battery buzzer went off, I brought her around and since there was still no wind, made a fine base and final and then a landing so very smooth- not a bump. Lovely.
This may very well, despite its weak controller and non-steering tailwheel, be my favorite rc plane- the one I would have if I could have just one.
Now, for you Fellers- what's your "favorite rc plane"? Why do you pick this one?

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

Horizon Hobby and FMS P-47's are my favorite to fly. Scale looks, predictable handling wide stance on the landing gear makes it stable on the runway. Still has plenty of get up and go, and is one of my favorite WWII warbirds,
