What. happened to my 4 wheel drive?

I was driving today and got stuck fairly easy and realized my four wheel drive was oit. I don't know what to check and I've switched the axles to portals, can you tell me what to check?

Check the entire drive line until you find the issue.

Lift one wheel off the bench at a time and rotate them. If one rotates freely your problem is in that axle.
