kinda looks like an ofna but not 100% wait for little more input:D

Yeah that's it. Now is there a huge power difference between the .21 and the .28?

I have a buggy with a .26, my brother has a buggy that has a .28. My .26 is boggy on low end but screams at top speed. The .28 that he has does great all around with loads of power for jumps. I prefer the small blocks my self, I now run a .20 on one buggy and a .21 on the other and like how they tune and rev out, sweet powerband. I just have had bad experience with the big blocks is all. I think its just all in what you prefer.

well i'm having the worse time tuning this thing. although it is cold as hell outside, i tuned my tmaxx 3.3 with no problems. are big blocks that hard to tune or am i just going to have to wiat til spring?

No, normally big blocks are easier from what I have seen anyway. You may have to wait until spring man. A lot of nitros are very temperamental in the winter.

I find it odd that on BOTH sides of that engine, in the first 2 pics, the manufacturers stamp or logo has been ground off.

About six months ago on ebay I had seen a few engines that a guy was doing this to and trying to pass the off as associated engines.I dont know what brand they really were but they did look like associated at first, other than the carb an other small details when compared side to side. Shortly after seeing this I was wondering how his feed back was and it sowed that they were fake and people were not at all happy when they got the engines. Not saying that's what happened here at all but, can't be to careful when buying used.

i noticed that they were ground as well. but like i said, i didnt buy it. i got it for a crappy fish tank so i think i still got a deal. but i figure i can play with this more than a fish tank hahaha.

is there anyway i can find the exact size of the piston of engines like the .21 and the .26. that way i can measure mine and see what fits. and i'm assuming that since he told me it was a .26, the guy he bought it from told him that. but in fact hhe pulled a switch-a-roo and gave him a .21. people suck.

I wouldn't worry about the size too much just have fun and bash away. tune it, after run it, little TLC. Get as many gallons out of it as you can then get a new one and start all over.

That's exactly what I'm going to do but I also got a bunch of extra parts like a piston and sleeve and a crank that all look in decent shape and I need to figure out what size they are so I can build another engine.

I dont know how to calculate the displacment size, I'm sure someone here can. Probably need a set of calipers and some kind of math formula, sorry I can't help with that. I think that would be a interesting thing to know how to do.

You can get that formula right off e how to web site

thanks. that helped alot. but now this engine is really pissing me off. i can't get it started. originally i could start it but the low speed needle was tightened all the way down, but it wasn't staying on. so i reset the carb back to factory settings, and now it wont even start. this pull start is so short and for some reason it's grabbing really hard on the pull but it won't go any further. i'm not sure what the hell is wrong with it but i've been at this for about an hour now. hell it took me 15 minutes to tune my tmaxx when i first got it. no pproblem. but this big block is a pain in my ass. is there anyway i could get maybe a longer pullstart, and figure out why my engine won't start.

Take a look and see if you got room for more cord on the starter. As far as the carb if someone over tightened the srews they may have damaged the tips you may want to consider just getting a new carb or take that one completely apart and make sure everything is in good shape if its kicking back hard on you it may be flooding pull the plug rotate it make sure its nothing mechcanical.Good luck hope you get it running

thanks alot. i've yet to get it going. but i'm determined as hell.
