Back in May, I'd purchased a zucchini seedling from Walmart. Transplanted into a 15gal grow bag, and it grew fast and was looking fantastic. Just as it started flowering and developing fruits, the older, larger leaves started to turn yellow then within 2 weeks, turned brown and die. New leaves coming in were nicely green, but ultimately suffered the same fate. It then stopped flowering, so I just chopped it.
I did research, but never did figure out the issue. It seems that it could have been anything: bacterial, fungal, deficiencies....

I have 2 cukes and a zuke on my porch that both don't like how much sun they are getting. I plan to build a small shade trellis to keep them under.

How about fertilizer?
I try to keep the plants well fed and watered. I over watered some snapdragons. They didn't make it but ok so far otherwise.

I hope our plants continue to do well!

From the symptoms, it seems it could be anything: too little water, too much water, fertilizer deficiency, disease....
The spot where my garden is, doesn't get full, direct sunlight until about 11:30am. I suppose it could have gotten too much sun. My other plants don't seem to be affected by the amount of sunlight the spot gets.
I water every evening, right around the time when the sun is just above the horizon. I give every planter a good soaking, perhaps a gallon per large planter.
As for fertilizer: all the planters were started with a mixture of coco coir, compost, perlite, and potting soil that includes slow release fertilizer. In the beginning, I would give fish emulsion fertilizer every 2 weeks. Since June, I switched to water soluble synthetic fertilizer. I’ve since added organic fertilizer pellets, as well.

Yeah, it sounds like you've got things dialed in well enough. If the rest of the plants are doing well, those should have done well too.

Just trying to do my best and putting all the information I'm picking up, to be successful.
Now, the challenge appears to be the onslaught of pests.

Pests ARE a constant challenge!

Mildew and that sort are another fun bunch to learn.

I think if I only lose a few plants during a seaon, I've done well.

There's a LOT to learn and SO MANY different approaches to gardening and maintenance!

Pair that with the number of soils and foods and ferts and containers and lights and and and...

Plus each year is different due to weather and temp variations during such a short growing season. New England has its own set of challenges.

Picked up an inexpensive solar powered wifi security cam from Amazon, just to see what lurks in the night.
This was less than $40, and while the video resolution is not great, it is good enough for me. It can be remotely pan side to side and up and down. Also, I can remotely turn on a fairly bright light and turn on an alarm should I want to startle and/or scare anything away.

An ear of corn is developing on one of the 3 corn plants. Also, a watermelon fruit has developed overnight. I hand pollinate it a little while ago, hopefully, it was successful. Cucumber plant doing well, and there are 3 cuke fruits that was successfully pollinate and should reach maturity.

Now, I've got an ear of corn on each of the 3 stalks. I'll hand pollinate the new one later on, today.
The sun sugar tomatoes are doing great! Over 7ft tall and over 70 fruits, right now. One was starting to blush yellow, so I picked it and let it ripen in the house. Pretty good, but I was hoping it would be sweeter, like the way people on YT were raving. I'll let the rest ripen on the vine and see how much of a difference that makes.

At beginning of May, I had sow these rainbow carrot seeds. Today, I was very curious to get an idea of what's going on under the soil.
Yep, taste like a sweet carrot.

I've started a feed new seeds heading into the 2nd half of summer: zucchini, soy beans, cuke, green beans.
My first zucchini plant was bought as a seedling. It grew well and fast, and flowered everywhere. Unfortunately, fruits never took, and leaves had a major issue once it matured. Tried several things, but I finally just culled it to play it safe. This time, I'm starting from seed, and see what happens.
I had one bush green bean plant, which I'd started from seed. The plant only produced 2 fruits, weeks ago, and has since shows no indication of producing any more. The plant still looks great. So, I’ve started a couple of new ones.
My cuke plant, started from seed, looks great and still producing fruit, but at a rather slow pace. I’ve gotten 3 nice fruits but a number of them were not successfully pollinated. Using the same seed packet, I got a seedling, but this morning, the small seedling had vanished. I'm guessing, slugs probably got to it during the overnight. I'll try again, but this time, I'm growing it in a small planter until it puts on a good size before transplanting it into the grow bags.
I also, had a store bought ginger root that I got to sprout in water. Transplanted it into a container, yesterday. This one is more of a fun, curiosity planting than anything else. If I get an adequate yield, perhaps I'll try to make sushi pickled ginger.
