I went on a road trip with 2 of my fishing buddies to Eureka CA.
Map of Eureka
Eureka is about a 5-hour drive north from SF. The drive up was amazing. Huge redwood trees all the way. This is truly Gods country. Located on the north coast of California and being a coastal town it was beautiful and the weather was cool.

HB and his GF were excellent hosts to all 3 of us. His house is in a great neighborhood and has excellent views of the mountains and the coastline. It was hard to leave the house to go and light fireworks. His GF is an Eye Magnet, Just can't stop looking at her.

Around dark we went to the north jetty of the bay and found a secluded spot about 20 yards from the ocean. HB and 5-6 of his buddies brought several cases of mortars and rockets. It took us over 2 hours to light them off and still didn’t use all of them. We lit a bonfire and kicked back for a while.

The next morning we hit the south jetty with our polls and did some fishing. Went to see HBs Track and run the RCs for a while. HB has done a great job on the track and it rivals many of the commercial tracks I have driven on. A few of the local drivers came by and we lit it up for a while. Don’t be fooled by the small town drivers these guys are good. I guess with the lack of other things to do they get a lot of track time.

Later in the afternoon we headed down the coast for a while and did some trout fishing in the rivers. With it being to early for the salmon run and too late for the steelheads, fishing was slow. Got back into town late Saturday night. Played catch up on Sunday.

I drove to the middle of no-where and is also known as cow poop land IE Sacramento. We sat around, ate corn and stuff, caught some fish in their pond dealio. We picked fruit from my grandparents farm. Played some pool, chilled then watched 3 fireworks shows goinin on in citys near my grandparents house, we could see it all from their barn. It was cool. I nearly lit myself on fire 4 times lighting fireworks, and the kids down the street went crazy and ran out of their house screaming cause of my fireworks. Thats preety much it, but it was fun. Hope you all had a cool 4th,

-Smurf

The same thing we do every fourth. We went to my in-law's and had a picnic. My brother in-law got us the hook up on the good fireworks. We messed around with the firecrackers and bottle rockets durring the daylight hours and lite off a butt load of mortors, rockets and displays after darkness fell. It was fun. Its good to have nice weather finally.

Took my son to Sea World and Universal islands of adventure for his third birthday. The wifes family came down from NY to spend his birthday with him. It was a very nice weekend.

:OT: My Ex took my daughter to Disney World while I was in Washington last month and she loved it. My only regret is that I could not have shared that event with my daughter. This has nothing to do with the 4th but NC's story reminded me of the event.

Damn Eddy - u spent the night on a secluded beach with humboldt? ::shudders:: just kidding.

Other than some major RC bashing sessions, i had the last 4 days off - and did absolutely nothing - and it was everything i thought it could be.

HB's girl is eyecandy, eh eddy??? are we replacing Christians wife with blazers as the new RCNT pinup girl?

I went to the Pocono with my family. And got a nice sunburn. But overall it was fun. Took my T-maxx and drove it all over the mountain!
